BEFORE THE MOVIE

These are my thoughts beforehand. I am a huge fan of the two previous collaborations with Liam Neeson and Jaume Collet-Serra. Unknown was anything but perfect but it was a fun time and Non-Stop was great. So I'm really looking forward to this because first off, it has an R rating. The two previous film were rated PG-13 and I love Liam Neeson as an action star so I can't wait to see this film. I'm also a huge sucker for action movies, being my favorite genre of all-time.

AFTER THE MOVIE

So I just finished watching "Run All Night". In my honest opinion, this was my favorite of the three collaborations with Liam Neeson and director Jaume-Collet Serra. The action was fast-paced and non-stop, the performances were great and the visual style and flair were very present.

The performances are all around amazing. Liam Neeson, once again KICKS-ASS. But he still can't run. Surprisingly, Joel Kinnaman was pretty good in it. He didn't really impress me as RoboCop (I always thought Peter Weller WAS RoboCop) but now, he's starting to be in big films (He will play Rick Flag in Suicide Squad). Common was weird. I mean you get a great rapper, who can act well in movies, and he's playing a weird hitman that barely says anything and has NO FACIAL EXPRESSION WHAT-SO-EVER. Wasted talent in my opinion. But the true showstopper this time is Ed Harris. He is one of my favorite actors and KILLS IT as the main bad guy, Sean Maguire. He is very menacing and believable. ALSO, look out for an A-Lister making one of the BEST cameos of the year so far. Vincent D'Onofrio is a nice addition to the cast as well.

What I really liked about this film is once the action hits, IT NEVER STOPS! It's an amazing, non-stop, action movie ride. The action scenes are brutal and badass, especially the ending in the woods where Liam Neeson gives his obligatory Neeson moment. The action is raw and powerful and deserves his R-Rating.
I also loves the visual esthetic that this film brings when it goes to one place to another all in 5 seconds. The cinematography is beautiful and original and really immerses you into this beautifully crafted world.

Overall, I really enjoyed RUN ALL NIGHT. It was a fun, badass action film with some amazing cinematography and a killer performance by Ed Harris. It also has some great action and I would recommend seeing it at least once in your life. The only thing I didn't like was Common's performance and the ending. I thought the ending was extremely unnecessary. I just thought it was really weird to kill-off Liam Neeson's character after Joel Kinnaman's character made it up to him. The ending really feels blank. Oh well, it's still a fun time and I'm sure you will enjoy it.
