A 'Cinematic Universe' is a shared fictional universe that is centered around a series of films, the best current examples are Marvel's MCU and DC's DCCU...Tell us which franchise would be perfect for an expanded universe, along with 3 movies you'd like to see from that expanded universe (Moviepilot.com).

Now I know that the page for this very contest has a Matrix Cinematic Universe as an example, but I want to do it better....or at least differently.

I give you: (Yet Another) Matrix Cinematic Universe!

The unholy Trinity

1. War Against The Machines

Sentinels!
Sentinels!

Way before Morpheus freed Neo from the Matrix, before even Morpheus was freed, there was the War against The Machines. The War that wiped out the human race, saw the robots become the masters of Earth, and humans were being used as Copper-top batteries. This Matrix could be the ultimate post-apocalyptic battle movie--with APC's, Sentinels, Hoverships, and lots of bullets.

Then, there was the first Matrix. It would be cool to see our first human realize that this world is a little too perfect and rebel against it while outside the Matrix humanity fights on. I wanna see an early program Agent in action.

"The first matrix I designed was quite naturally perfect. It was a work of art. Flawless. Sublime. A triumph only equaled by its monumental failure (The Architect)."

2. Vampires of the Matrix

Lost Boys
Lost Boys

According to the second Matrix movie, The Matrix Reloaded:

"Every time you've heard someone say they saw a ghost, or an angel. Every story you've ever heard about vampires, werewolves, or aliens, is the system assimilating some program that's doing something they're not supposed to be doing (The Oracle)."

"They come from a much older version of the Matrix, but like so many back then they caused more problems than they solved. My husband saved them because they are notoriously difficult to terminate. How many people keep silver bullets in their gun (Persephone)."

The Merovingian employed Vampires, his wife Persephone killed a werewolf in front of Neo, Trinity and Morpheus with a gun loaded with silver bullets. It leads to one totally awesome fact: there are Vampires in the Matrix. These are the guys that refused to be deleted to make way for another program, or programs that other superior programs like the Merovingian saved for their own purposes. Maybe there's a Vampire Slayer program out there too?

Like Agent Smith in the Matrix sequels, these vampires and other "supernatural" creatures try to take over the Matrix/world and our heroes have to stop them. Super physics-defying kung-fu soldiers like Trinity fighting vampires would be pretty cool to see on screen.

3. The Other Ones

According to the Architect, our original Matrix movie was not the first one to have a "One." There were others.

"The function of the One is now to return to the source, allowing a temporary dissemination of the code you carry, reinserting the prime program. After which you will be required to select from the matrix 23 individuals, 16 female, 7 male, to rebuild Zion...Denial is the most predictable of all human responses. But, rest assured, this will be the sixth time we have destroyed it, and we have become exceedingly efficient at it (The Architect)."

I wish to see these "Other Ones." The Ones (at least six) that made the horrifying decision to go along with the Machine's plans and not fight back. Hackers like Neo and Morpheus who become the ultimate soldiers in a war that started way before they were born. What are those guys (or possibly girls) like?
