Disney Studios has recently released that they will be producing a live-action prequel to the hit 1992 animated movie, Aladdin.
The company has been all over the movie news with announcements about new live-action films on timeless classics. From Maleficent, Winnie-the-Pooh, and The Jungle Book, Disney plans to have real-life renditions of their classic animations hitting the big screen.
The Aladdin live-action prequel is still in the early stages of development; however, they will name the movie: Genies. This film will be a comedy, written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. Tripp Vinson is said to be producing the movie also.
Obviously, since the film will be set in the past and is about Genie, we will likely only see a glimpse, or not at all, of our favorite characters like Aladdin, Abu, Jasmine, and Jafar.
Fear not though, because it was claimed that the Genies film will lead into another live-action movie about Aladdin.
More information will be released about this film as the months go on, so stay tuned.
'Genies' does not yet have a release date.
