Today I went to the cinema to see the final Hobbit film and I was super pumped as I really enjoyed Desolation Of Smaug. The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies centers on the group of dwarves who have now reclaimed the lonely mountain from the dragon Smaug however armies of men, elves and orcs come to separately take the mountain from them. The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies stars Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Ian McKellen, Lee Pace, Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lilly and Luke Evans.

I have a few of positives to this film, which are: great acting, brilliant action, good story and story progression and the character development is good. Everyone in this film plays their parts very well and I especially liked Richard Armitage who plays Thorin who did an excellent portrayal of the character's arc in this film; the plot of the film is also very good even though the majority of the film is one long battle sequence but the many parts that make up the sequence make it intense and interesting. As we have grown to love the characters in the series, the things that occur are all the more emotional and those moments are executed really well. The development of characters like Thorin added depth to the plot and his character study was very interesting.

I also have a few minor negatives to talk about, which include: my problems with the first 15-20 mins, the CGI and the love story. To expand, there wasn't anything wrong with the first 20 mins however it didn't fit in with a start of a film it would have been much better served on the end of Desolation then this film would start with the aftermath of what happens; the CGI in this film is good but because there is so much of it so it is very noticeable which is worth saying even though it didn't bother me that much. My final problem was the Dwarf-Elf love story which okay in the second film however it was a bit strange in this film but it didn't bother me considerably as it was for only a very small portion of screen time.

Overall I really enjoyed this film and I think it is the best of the 3 films, I do have problems with the film however these are very minor and don't change my score too much. So taking everything into consideration I rate this film:
