After rewatching Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace a couple of months ago I finally finished up the Daniel Craig James Bond films with Skyfall. Skyfall is the 23rd Bond film which centers on an aging Bond who comes back into service to respond to a threat to MI6, M and the identities of their undercover agents. Skyfall stars Daniel Craig as James Bond and also stars Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Naomi Harris, Ralph Fiennes and Rory Kinnear.
There are a lot of positives to this film which include: great action, brilliant acting, really good story, good story progression, good humour and the introduction of classic bond quirks. The action set pieces in this film are fantastically set up and really fun to watch, it really shows that practical effects were used instead of CGI; everyone's performance in this film is really good and Daniel Craig is his best as Bond finally becoming the Bond I wanted to see in the first two of his films. The story in this film is very intriguing and takes some nice twists and turns and keeps you on the edge of your seat even if you have seen it many times, also the film concludes really well and gets you pumped for the next one. This film had much more humour than the other Daniel Craig films which is a good thing as it reminded me of the old bond films, it furthers this feeling with many other parts that were added (like Q, the old DB5 and just the general tone); I think I like this film more than the others because it feels more like a Bond film where the others were just good action films. On the side of negatives the only thing I can think of is that the CGI (what little of it there was) was a bit sketchy in places for example the motorbike scene at the start when it does a close up of their faces, it looks noticeably fake and a bit strange.
Overall I really love Skyfall and I think it is Daniel Craig's best Bond film, so taking everything I have said into consideration I rate this film:
