The remake of the popular horror novel that was developed into a film back in the 90’s has finally found a new director. The remake was originally going to be helmed by Cary Fukunaga but he dropped out of the project which left New Line scrambling trying to find a new director for the film, it would seem that they have finally found the right director.

Word comes from The Hollywood Reporter that Andy Muschietti behind the horror film Mama will be the one to take the reigns of the project, Mama was released back in 2013 and made a decent amount of money at the box office. The plan is for the project to still be in two parts but it’s unclear on when the film will start filming and if Will Poulter will still be the one behind Pennywise, the infamous clown who torments children.

It’ll be interesting to see if the film can do as good as the original film or become a classic, it’ll also be interesting to see how well it does at the box office and if audiences are ready to see another remake.
