The Clone Club can now celebrate the recognition of the fabulous Tatiana Maslany!
For those of you that don't know Orphan Black, it's a crazy, emotional, sci-fi rollercoaster ride which features Maslany as... well... a vast majority of the main characters.
Through the use of body doubles and subtle CGI, Maslany delivers a nuanced (probably exhausting) glimpse into the lives of an ever-expanding list of clones. Her acting choices are so clear with each individual character that it's stunning to watch. There are even moments in the show where certain clones try to imitate or pass off as each other, however, if you are paying attention you can ALWAYS tell who is who because Maslany's choices are so strong. (PS: Ari Millen also deserves a shout-out for his portrayal of the Castor clones, but he came on to the show later so there hasn't been as much uproar about his lack of Emmys. Also, he doesn't carry the entire show so... there's that.)
Seriously, if you are not watching this show then you need to get on that. Clearly there is something missing in your life and that something is Clone Club.
AND YET like most sci-fi(ish) shows, Orphan Black has had a huge fan following without much awards recognition.
How we (Clone Club) felt after every previous season:
WHERE ARE THOSE EMMY JUDGES? I HAVE A PENCIL SHOOTER AND I'M NOT AFRAID TO USE IT!
How we feel now:
I am still bitter for the lack of recognition up to this point, but I guess we can let you off easy, Emmy Judges.
