Anyone who is familiar with the Deadpool comics knows that he drives just about everyone in the Marvel Universe nuts, because, well, Deadpool's gonna Deadpool.
But one the few characters in the Marvel world who can stand working with him for an extended amount of time is mutant Cable, with the pair sharing their own team-up series, Cable & Deadpool, that earned itself a devoted following. And provided some of the best cut scenes in the Deadpool video game by far:
With an X-Force movie in the works, Deadpool star and Wade Wilson's spirit animal, Ryan Reynolds, said he'd like to see the team be led by Cable. And, of course, with the potential for some of that sweet, sweet Deadpool action.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, Reynolds and co-star TJ Miller sat down to discuss what other comic book characters they'd love to work with. While Miller couldn't decide, Reynolds was decisive about who he'd choose. First he mentioned Spawn, then working with Hugh Jackman as Wolverine again, (though he admitted that was highly unlikely). But when the subject of Deadpool leading the X-Force came up, Reynolds admitted that while he'd like to be a part of it, no one in their right mind would let him lead a team:
I always see Deadpool running against the grain for everything he does. He can’t possibly conform to any sort of leadership role. He always has to be the wild card. So you’d have to have someone like Cable running point on a team like X-Force. I'd love for that to be a next step that we take.
Could you imagine a Deadpool and Cable team up in the X-Force movie? Sweet mother of chimichangas.
Who would you want to see on the team? Let me know in the comments!
