Moviepilot's cinematic universe contest really got me thinking. My mind crossed works such as Game of Thrones, old school Cartoon Network shows, and games such as Bioshock and Borderlands. However, I then stumbled onto the idea of Archer. Archer is the animated, adult comedy series that centers around espionage esquire Sterling Archer (voiced by H. Jon Benjamin) and his coworkers at ISIS, the spy organization his mother Mallory runs (to his annoyance).
The reason I chose this as my entry piece is because it would be far more than a James Bond spoof; Archer could really hold it's own as a stand alone set of live action comedy movies. In lieu of old hits that I love like The Naked Gun trilogy, I think it could combine slapstick comedy and nail-biting action sequences - amazing, right? So without further ado...
My three movie ideas!
1. Code name: Duchess
The first movie would be an origin story of EPIC proportions. We've touched on Archer's hilarious and slightly tragic childhood and history throughout the show, from him being practically raised by the family servant [and heroin addict] Woodhouse, to his lacrosse and boarding school days. How did he end up being the defensive, witty badass agent, Duchess?
Yes, he relied on Mallory for the job position more than anything, but you have to admit the many crazy events that must have taken place during his youth and training would be amazing to see in a feature length picture. His first mission, his other dreams failing, him meeting all of the other staff members like Pam and Ray.
2. Operation Slightly Darker Black
One of Archer's first and most pivotal and dangerous missions has arrived: taking down the Tackleneck industry to claim the name for his own. Come on, he did invent the concept, after all! ODIN had tried to claim his fortune and Archer is having none of that. Rampage time!
3. Danger Zone
The climax of the astounding Archer trilogy is here! Danger Zone is Archer's last and biggest assignment, yet taking place after the show's arc. Archer is struggling to balance raising A.J, being torn between his love for Lana and his lust for the world's most beautiful young ladies, along with ISIS closing down forever and Woodhouse's disappearance, will it all get too much for Archer when he is asked to take down the entire Australian embassy due to a sudden Alligator epidemic? The only way you can find out is to watch the third and final thrilling installment in the Archer Trilogy!
Well, there you have it...my competition entry. Hope you all loved it! And hey, if you like and share it enough for me to win maybe I'll make the films one day for you...
