Back in 1991, Robin Williams donned a rather fetching pair of green shorts and flew off to Neverland to rescue his children from the evil, hooked, Dustin Hoffman. And so began Steven Spielberg's brilliant reimagining of Peter Pan, the story of a Lost Boy who must recapture his youth in order to challenge his enemy.

1. David Bowie turned down the role of Captain James Hook

12. During filming, Julia Roberts was admitted to hospital for nervous exhaustion. As a kind gesture, Spielberg gave her Peter Pan's childhood bear to cheer her up. Unfortunately, Spielberg forgot they were to shoot the bear scene the next day, so the prop department had to rustle up a duplicate in a few hours
