Bioware have some remarkably dedicated fans behind Mass Effect: Andromeda. The Mass Effect trilogy has given us some of the greatest moments in recent gaming, along with some of the most well-scripted characters. Therefore, discussions about what lies ahead for the release date of Mass Effect 4 are commonplace among the community. But one particular discussion made it clear what Bioware fans are seeking the most for from the next instalment.

It's surprising - though not that much - that gameplay, as in actual combat in Mass Effect: Andromeda, is almost never mentioned in this thread. Bioware have made chatting with characters more interesting in every single Mass Effect adventure, as well as in Dragon Age and their Star Wars games. It's their strongest trait, but fans want things to step up for this 2016 release date.

Mass Effect: Andromeda - the Gameplay Changes Fans Desire the Most

Personally, I just want more lines as powerful as this. Dragon Age: Inquisition was a lot of fun, but it was lacking in terms of its plot. I sincerely hope that Mass Effect: Andromeda is as compelling as previous instalments in the franchise. But the most requested aspects for the next release date are improvements to relationships and general conversation options.

We all want to feel closer to Bioware's characters in every way possible. They are such credible individuals, that whether we're simply asking them about their lives or trying to get them into bed, players want more options. Bioware have already touched on how conversations will allow players to be real dicks, but I suppose we really want to be able to communicate with people for more hours than any other Bioware game has given us in the past. The more lore the better.

What Do You Want From the Release Date of Mass Effect 4?

For me, I really hope that Bioware improve on the open world aspect of planets. Mass Effect changed a lot throughout the trilogy and the exploration options that the first game introduced were later abandoned. Of course, the options were very limited in the first instalment, so they'll need to be expanded on. But I felt that Dragon Age: Inquisition filled its maps with too much "content" that just felt like filler, such as running around and picking up shards.

I want to feel like each planet has an identity and that each location gives us a ton of characters and side quests to engage with. I don't want to simply be running around ticking things off my list. Let's hope that Inquisition isn't a template for how exploration on planets will play out.

"We knew we wanted to start with a foundation composed of the best parts of any Mass Effect game: exciting new worlds to discover, great characters, and intense action. At the same time, we clearly wanted to expand the definition of what you should expect from a Mass Effect game." - Bioware at E3

Let's hope that Mass Effect 4 is everything we've dreamed the series would become. Here are some additional gameplay alterations that players would love to see for its release date:

  • 2 Romances should be able to be carried out in secret from one another.
  • Make the Mako and jet pack some of the most enjoyable mechanics in the game.
  • Make side-quests a must in Mass Effect: Andromeda.
  • Allow for up to 3 members to enter your squad on missions.
  • More fish for our aquarium...
  • A main character to rival that of Shepard.
