Kumail Nanjiani will be appearing on the upcoming revival of The X-Files. Nanjiani is a self-proclaimed super-fan of the series and has even hosted his own podcast about it, entitled "The X-Files Files." The comedian revealed exclusively on his Twitter that he would be appearing in an episode written and directed by Darin Morgan.
It seems the Silicon Valley star will be appearing briefly as an animal control officer, judging by this picture he shared via Twitter:
Nanjiani also revealed that he recorded David Duchovny and Gillain Anderson reminiscing about their past when working on the original X-Files series. He plans to release the audio on his podcast soon.
Later, Nanjiani gushed about the shows stars, stating:
David & Gillian were truly kind, welcoming & hilarious. Great people.
The X-Files six episode event is set years after events on the original series. In addition to Duchovny and Anderson reprising their roles as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, Mitch Pileggi and William B. Davis will reprise their roles as Walter Skinner and The Cigarette-Smoking Man. The show will also feature Joel McHale as Tad O'Malley, a conservative Internet news anchor who becomes an unlikely ally to Mulder, and Annet Mahendru who stars as Sveta, a possible alien abductee.

The X-Files will return on Sunday January 24th, 2016 at 10 p.m. It will be a two-night premiere, with the show airing on Monday night at 8 p.m. in its regular time slot.
