Last week, I was able to see the last movie in Marvel's Phase Two, Ant-Man. What a great end to this Phase! This last installment was great, and you can read my review of it here. Leaving the theater, I couldn't help wonder, what happens next? This Phase held crucial points leading up to Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man, but there are still pieces to this cinematic puzzle that need to be explained.

Leading up to watching the second Avengers movie, I had a marathon like any good Marvel fan would do. I hadn't watched some of them since I first got the DVD, and it was almost like I was watching them for the first time again. I noticed little snippets that came into play later in the line-up. These little side comments, or even end-scenes, I believe will come into play during MCU's Phase 3! I don't know about you, but I am super stoked about it.

The New Avengers

This is the most recent event that has me all excited about the beginning of Phase Three. In Avengers: Age of Ultron, we are shown that a new team is being assembled! Two of these recruits are old, but I am looking forward to seeing more of the two new heroes. I think that we will see a lot more of the Scarlet Witch, Vision, Falcon, and War Machine in the coming movies.

They could be a crucial point in Phase Three's first movie, Captain America: Civil War. Will they stay with their new leader? Or will they defect to the other side? This is something I am going to be looking for in the new Phase!

New Heroes

The new heroes are something we have been hearing a lot about. While watching some of the movies again, there were a couple I noticed getting mentioned!

In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we hear mention of someone I am really looking forward to. This is when Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff are interrogating HYDRA agent Jasper Sitwell.

Jasper Sitwell: Zola'a algorithm is a program for choosing Insight's targets.

Steve Rogers: What targets?

Jasper Sitwell: You! A TV anchor in Cairo, the Under Secretary of Defense, a high school valedictorian in Iowa City, Bruce Banner, Stephen Strange, anyone who's a threat to HYDRA. Now, or in the future.

Stephen Strange, also known as Doctor Strange, has been mentioned earlier than we even knew there was going to be a movie about him. I have only recently found out who he is, and I can say that I am really excited to see how Benedict Cumberbatch is able to pull him off.

There is one other hero that I just recently heard mentioned in a Marvel movie.

Our first mention of Spider-Man in the MCU! I can't wait to see the part he plays in Captain America: Civil War, and what impact he may have later on in the Phase.

Phase Three is promising us many other new heroes, including Black Panther and Captain Marvel. I look forward to seeing their movies, and how they are introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A Continuing Storyline

This is probably the one thing that I am most excited about! From the first time I saw his face at the end of The Avengers, I was curious. That was before I became obsessed with Marvel, so I didn't know much about him at the point. Now that I do know a bit more, I can't wait to see where this ends!

His story really kicks off in Guardians of the Galaxy, but it is in this movie that we find out that Phase Two has been leading up to the end-scene in Avengers: Age of Ultron. If you haven't seen the movie, I won't spoil it for you, but it was so exciting to see that the Tesseract from Captain America: The First Avenger, Aether from Thor: The Dark World, the Infinity Stone/Orb from Guardians of the Galaxy, and the scepter from The Avengers were all connected.

Infinity stones. Four we have seen, but two remain. I really hope that Doctor Strange has one, but I'm not sure where the other one is.

Since the next set of Avenger movies is called Avengers: Infinity War, I think that we will get to see the end of this storyline!

These are the main reasons I can't wait until Phase Three starts.

What about you?
