Before we get into this, I would like to clarify that this is a non-spoiler review, so do not worry, and continue to read.

Ant-Man was a superhero that all non-nerds have never heard of, but just like Guardians of the Galaxy, the movie successfully understood what it was and ran with it. And culminates an epic phase 2 of the MCU!

My biggest positive that I give this movie is how they dealt with Ant-Man, they created a good, solid character in Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd, who is great by the way, and the story seemed logical and flowed really well, they way they integrated Scott and Hank Pym fitted so well. I also like how they lowered the stakes from Avengers: Age of Ultron, which I love! The movie is simply a heist movie, and a good one at that.

Another big positive is the cast bringing their A-Game! They were all superb, Michael Douglas was the stand out performance of the entire film, he did not just walk in and picked up his pay. He brought so much emotion to his character which in return enhances the entire film.

Another positive is the way Ant-Man was shot when he reduced to Ant size, it was well done, it did not look CGI (Even though it was), and it was weirdly believable, even with all of the other Ants. This process was the main concern, because the way it was done has never been done before. And it worked perfectly!

My one main negative is how Ant-Man dealt with its villain. I felt not enough time was given to Darren Cross/Yellow Jacket. Just like most stand alone marvel films. There were opportunities for the film to flesh out his character in relation to other characters, which would make him more developed as a villain, but they did not take it and it was disappointing to see.

Overall, this was one of the better MCU movies but not the best, and I think that is what we were expecting and I say to you that this is definitely worth the watch!

So what did you think? Did you like Ant-Man or not? Comment Below and let me know!
