It doesn't take a lot of research to know that Stephen Colbert, one of the most beloved late night hosts of this generation, has never been shy about his love for Marvel comics.

He proudly displayed Captain America's shield on his set throughout The Colbert Report, enjoyed an in-world presidential run on Earth-616, canonically saved Spider-Man's life once, and even tried to position himself as the next Falcon when Sam Wilson took over the role of Captain America last year.

So, while it didn't come as a great surprise that Colbert's latest tweet happened to highlight Marvel once more, it certainly was a pleasant thing to wake up to -- and not just for Marvel itself.

What better way to promote his new video, "Lunch With Stephen Colbert (1 of 5)" than as the great world-devourer, Galactus, himself?

Snapping a selfie with a Burger King-style paper replica of Galactus' headpiece, the comedian linked his video and caused a gigantic, geeky tidal wave of replies to roll in, including one from Marvel HQ

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has been ramping up anticipation through podcasts, short videos and an especially engaged Colbert, who seemingly hasn't stopped working since The Colbert Report went off the air.

This, of course, comes to the advantage of his dedicated audience, with Colbert's nerd cred skyrocketing him back into our hearts faster than the Silver Surfer. What plans does Colbertus have for the future? That's certainly left to be seen - but for now, fans can rest assured that he at least intends to continue relating to his audience in the wackiest, most unique ways he possibly can. See you soon, Stephen!

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert premieres September 8 on CBS.
