It is hard to argue that the first season of The Flash has been nothing short of an absolute hit with its audience, delivering the charm of Barry Allen to an otherwise dark DC on TV world occupied by his slightly (only slightly) more mature friend, Oliver Queen, also known as Arrow(and soon to be known as Green Arrow).
With season two ramping up, the CW has decided to tease a brand new costume for Grant Gustin's titular hero, and it's a grim reminder, but also a respectful nod for long-time Flash fans.
The most notable difference on this costume is Barry's chest plate, which previously sported a crimson red background, switching back to the classic gold-on-white. This particular change is a great nod to Barry's costume from the comics, as well as to the 90s television version of the Flash, whose lead now plays Gustin's father on the show.
What's more, this isn't the only new Flash getup that fans can expect during this coming season: both Jay Garrick and Wally West will be making an appearance this season, bringing family ties and the Multiverse to the show in a new, creative way.
