We are coming close to the end of summer. We are in the second have of the year. And there are still plenty of great movies coming up. While you are most defiantly aware of the Star Wars and Mission Impossible's of the world. But there are always some movies you don't know about.

Here are five movies that might not be on your radar.

Paper Towns

Synopsis: Adapted from the bestselling novel by author John Green ("The Fault in Our Stars"), PAPER TOWNS is a coming-of-age story centering on Quentin and his enigmatic neighbor Margo, who loved mysteries so much she became one. After taking him on an all-night adventure through their hometown, Margo suddenly disappears--leaving behind cryptic clues for Quentin to decipher. The search leads Quentin and his quick-witted friends on an exhilarating adventure that is equal parts hilarious and moving. Ultimately, to track down Margo, Quentin must find a deeper understanding of true friendship--and true love.

The Fault in Our Stars was a surprise hit for Fox last year. They are hoping to do it again. Paper Town stars two up-and-coming actors. Nat Wolff had pretty good supporting roles in both The Fault in Our Stars and the indie movie Palo Alto. Cara Delevingne, meanwhile, scored a role in DC's Suicide Squad as Enchantress. The movie also currently has a 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, though there are only six reviews, so take that with a grain of salt.

Release Date: July 24

Ricki and the Flash

Synopsis: Three-time Academy Award (R) winner Meryl Streep goes electric and takes on a whole new gig - a hard-rocking singer/guitarist - for Oscar (R)-winning director Jonathan Demme and Academy Award (R)-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody in the uplifting comedy Ricki and the Flash. In a film loaded with music and live performance, Streep stars as Ricki, a guitar heroine who gave up everything for her dream of rock-and-roll stardom, but is now returning home to make things right with her family. Streep stars opposite her real-life daughter Mamie Gummer, who plays her fictional daughter; Rick Springfield, who takes on the role of a Flash member in love with Ricki; and Kevin Kline, who portrays Ricki's long-suffering ex-husband.

Meryl Streep transforms into a rockstar. She actually learned to play the guitar for her role as Ricki. Mamie Gummer is actually Streep's daughter, so they should have some great chemistry. And in a script from Diablo Cody, and you should have a fun film.

Release Date: August 7

Z for Zachariah

Synopsis: In the wake of a nuclear war, a young woman survives on her own, fearing she may actually be the proverbial last woman on earth, until she discovers the most astonishing sight of her life: another human being. A distraught scientist, he's nearly been driven mad by radiation exposure and his desperate search for others. A fragile, imperative strand of trust connects them. But when a stranger enters the valley, their precarious bond begins to unravel.

A film about only 3 characters that stars only 3 actors. Those 3 actors? Margot Robbie, Chris Pine, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. This movie might not be mainstream and might not be for everybody. But it is a character driven film about a small story in a big world.

Release Date: August 28

Black Mass

Synopsis: In 1970s South Boston, FBI Agent John Connolly (Joel Edgerton) persuades Irish mobster James "Whitey" Bulger (Johnny Depp) to collaborate with the FBI and eliminate a common enemy: the Italian mob. The drama tells the story of this unholy alliance, which spiraled out of control, allowing Whitey to evade law enforcement, consolidate power, and become one of the most ruthless and powerful gangsters in Boston history.

Johnny Depp has been doing the same thing for a while now. And he has been losing a lot of fans and credibility while doing it. But this movie should help him. He plays a brutal mobster and he is pretty unrecognizable. It should be fun and great to see Depp back in the saddle.

Release Date: September 18

Synopsis: Adonis Johnson never knew his famous father, world heavy weight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Still, there's no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed's legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa. Rocky sees in Adonis the strength and determination he had known in Apollo - the fierce rival who became his closest friend.

Michael B. Jordan playing the grandson of Apollo Creed? Sign me up. This movie continues the Rocky franchise without focusing on Rocky. I don't know if this will be good or not. And right now we only have the one trailer to go by. But I just have a good feeling about this. Jordan is one heck of a actor.
