Ladies and Gentleman welcome to the first edition of "Movies You're Gonna Want To Watch". My mission is to inform you about movies you regularly wouldn't hear about and persuade you to pay your hard earned money to see them. Why? The answer is pretty simple. In this cinematic age of remakes, sequels, and literary adaptations there are a few filmmakers still making original material. Problem being since they're making said material they don't get the proper funding that huge studios offer and in turn people miss out on these remarkable gems. So let's get to it shall we!!

On this edition i've chosen the lastest from Academy Award winning director Alejandro Inarritu (Birdman, Babel) titled "The Revenant". The films stars Leonardo DiCaprio (Wolf of Wall Street. Django Unchained) as legendary explorer Hugh Glass who with his team are on an expedition of the uncharted american wilderness. Tragedy strikes, Glass is attacked by a bear and left for dead by his team. Now alone in the unforgiving winter conditions Glass endures unimaginable grief as he tries to survive and get his revenge. The film co-stars Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises, Warrior) and Domhnall Gleeson (Unbroken, About Time). The REAL ace of this film is acclaimed cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki who uses the very controversial method of only using natural light. Due to this method some days of filming only last twenty to thirty minutes. As you can can tell from the trailer below it's completely worth it. This film looks like a moving work of art.

The Revenant released worldwide on January 8th.
