With the horror genre taking over TV, we are bound to get a lot of different things. Some shows we will love, and some shows we will absolutely hate! One thing is for sure though. Horror has made its way to national television in a big way. One show I am looking forward to.... Ramsey County. Now while a lot of people may not know about it just yet, let me remind you that a lot of people didn't know about the phenomenon that is " The Walking Dead ". Which leads me to believe that this show is in fact THE NEXT ONE UP! One of those reasons.........Keon Hall. A very intriguing individual. Extremely well mannered. But upon meeting him, you can already tell he has adapted a certain persona for this role. He now has a very peircing state, a very monotone like voice, and is very intimidating. Just in his mannerisms. Almost like a ticking time bomb that could go off at any moment. Upon learning more about the series and his character, you will see why I believe this show will have you obsessing for more.

MP/CJ: Thank you for taking the time to talk to us today.

Keon: No problem. Thank you for having me.

MP/CJ: You've mentioned horror as being your favorite genre. Any movie in particular sticks out to you that made you fall in love with horror?

Keon: Its actually crazy because I've been watching horror since I was 5. Not anything hardcore but the more knowledgeable movies. Like Friday the 13th, nightmare on elm street, things like that. It was just something that intruiged me. There's just something about being scared. But to answer your question, there isn't really one movie in particular that sticks out. There are a lot of good ones out there for sure.

MP/CJ: You are playing Detective Jordan Lucas. Can you give away anything about his character?

Keon: hmmmm.. He's very quiet. Doesn't say a lot. He really doesn't have to. It's so cool because you see that there is a deep internal conflict within himself. He's very obsessive when it comes to his line of work. That has taken a toll on his personal life. So you really see him struggle with balancing his home life, and being a detective. I really don't want to give away a lot, but his back story and what develops in front of your face, will shock everyone.

MP/CJ: Who are you drawing influence from in preparing for this role ?

Keon: I'm a huge Rick Grimes fan. I love how he has developed from someone who was always trying to do what's right, into this individual who will do what's necessary. By any means. So I've watched and studied him. Also Matthew McConaugheys character from True Detective was very dark and easy to be drawn too. He has had heavy influence on me. I probably owe that man my life after all of this is said and done. ( laughs )

MP/CJ: Can you tell us anything about Ramsey County ?

Keon: It's a very interesting town. More going on there than what you think. I play a new to town detective who is not used to the quietness that Ramsey provides. But that quietness doesn't last long. The town has a very dark and sadistic history behind it. A history some people just don't want to hear about. But it's there. So you have this new detective who doesn't believe in keeping secrets. Even though he has secrets himself. That tends to rub people the wrong way. So throughout the season you'll ask yourself, when do you draw the line between what's right and what's necessary.

MP/CJ: Your being very coy and for good reason. What kind of terror awaits the fans and the people of Ramsey?

Keon: The most fucked up kind. ( laughs ) The most scariest things to me, are the things you don't see. Bad things start to happen and you wonder, who or what is doing these barbaric things. The crazy thing is, the story and things we encounter are very very real. You won't see some 8 foot green guy running around that can't die, no matter how many times you chop his head off. This series taps into your deepest fears. It's actually pretty dangerous because it shows how people really are on the inside.

MP/CJ: Jordan Lucas vs Rick Grimes. Who wins?

Keon: ( laughing ) Wow. You know, here's the thing. You have two different characters, two completely different personas. The Rick Grimes you see now is how Jordan was before. Just a little bit worse. Jordan did time in the special forces before becoming a detective. I don't want to dwell on that factor to much but the Jordan that begins the season isn't the same person he was before. Certain elements of life have changed his ways. For the better. But in all honesty it wouldn't be much of a fight. ( winks )
