Marvel has done an incredible job of making us fall in love with their characters. They’ve done so by introducing them one by one in their own movies. But the films that hit biggest are the ones that bring them all together in some kind of blockbuster event.

With Civil War less than a year away, Marvel is about to drop their third big team up movie, another one that is sure to be a huge audience. And that audience is only going to get bigger by the time Infinity War comes out. So the question now is, what does Marvel do after that?

Where do they go for their next big blockbuster? Well, luckily for them, Marvel has no shortage of major comic events that have brought some of our favorite characters together. There are a ton of stories out there that would make for a great movie.

Here are four Marvel comic events that we could see on the big screen:

(Warning: Potential spoilers ahead)

1. Secret War

Nick Fury sends a team of heroes on an unsanctioned mission to overthrow the Latverian government, only to have it come back to haunt him and his team. Sounds like something our MCU Fury would do, right? It seems like we might see this story take shape some time down the road, with the Secret Warriors coming to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. next season. If Fury is assembling a secret team of gifted people now, who’s to say he won’t do it on a much bigger scale down the road.

2. Shadowland

Ok, so I don’t see this one making it to the big screen, but I would love to see this as the story arc for a season of Daredevil on Netflix. Remember the ninja he fought in Season 1? Well, he’s a part of an organization called The Hand. In Shadowland, Matt Murdock has taken over as the leader of The Hand and is using them to try to fix and protect Hell’s Kitchen. The only problem is, he’s being manipulated and is losing sight of what’s right and wrong. The best example of this comes when he confronts Bullseye in the beginning of the story... and ruthlessly murders him! A team of heroes and Matt’s closest friends have to try to save him before it’s too late.

3. Annihilation

After the Infinity War film is as popular as it inevitably will be, this seems like the logical next step. This story takes the Guardians of the Galaxy, Ronan, Nova and even the villainous Thanos and pits them against a new threat. As you could guess, this team doesn’t exactly work well together, and Drax actually fulfills his destiny and kills Thanos. Tell me that wouldn’t draw some emotion from the crowd! This would also be a good way to push Nova into the spotlight as the new big hero. If, down the line, Marvel needs replacements for Iron Man and Captain America as the big stars, this could be the way to do it.

4. Secret Wars

No brainer! One of the most famous Marvel events of all time. A cosmic force known as The Beyonder brings a team of heroes and a team of villains to a planet that he created, to find out who would win the ultimate battle of good vs. evil. Now, obviously there would be some changes to the original story, with the X-Men, Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom playing major roles in the comic. But this would be the perfect way to bring together not only some of our favorite heroes, but our favorite villains as well. It could even provide the opportunity for them to team up to take on The Beyonder.

My point is that there are a lot of major stories Marvel could get to in their future movies.
