The actor known for his roles on the Shield, American Horror Story, No Ordinary Family, and the two Fantastic Four films named Michael Chiklis has landed a the role of a new regular character on Fox's Gotham in Season 2.

He will be playing a new ally of Detective Jim Gordon by the name of Captain Nathaniel Barnes who was given this description:

"Barnes lands on the GCPD like a tornado, ripping out the dead wood of Gotham’s police force. He is a law and order zealot; unafraid of making enemies – on either side of the law. For Gordon, Barnes is a hero and a mentor, someone with whom he can share the burden of heroism. Captain Barnes proves himself to be a strong ally to Gordon… but one day he will make an equally powerful enemy."

Isn't that interesting? Starting off as a good guy then becomes a complete opposite. So what kind of villain will he be? A corrupt cop? A future supervillain for the soon to be Batman? Both? Only way to find out is by tuning into Gotham every Monday starting September 21st, 2015.

Personally I think this is a great addition to the already stellar cast and I can't wait to see what Chiklis brings to the role. It's always interesting to see how good people become the villains. Just like how Season 1 did with Edward Nigma. What about you? Are you excited or worried? Let me know in the comments below!
