As the release of Ant-Man brings the curtain down on the thrilling second phase of Marvel's cinematic box o'treasures, so much has happened that it'd be fair if you were caught in a whirlwind of forgotten plot lines and general confusion as to what the heck just happened.

So, allow me to jog your memory and recall the whereabouts and what the heroes of the MCU are at now that their most testing of Phases is about to begin:

The Avengers

Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man

Next Seen In: Captain America: Civil War

Poor T-Stark, after the events of The Avengers, Iron Man 3 and Age of Ultron, I think it's safe to say he's beginning to feel the strain of being a hero, but not the financial strain of still fitting the super-team out in lavish and ridiculously high-tech garb.

After the battle with Ultron, Stark calls it a day on his time spent avenging, and the only indication of what he's been up to after comes in the post-credit scene in Ant-Man, where Cap'n America believes Stark won't be of any use due to "The Accords."

Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America

Next Seen In: Captain America: Civil War

Now that he's gotten his hands on the ultimate promotion, The First Avenger is now finally heading up the group! Though the two heroes seemed to have ended AoU amicably, he must be harboring some deep set - well, fairly open - resentment for the goateed one after his almost-catastrophic Ultron-tinkering.

Thor a.k.a. Thor

Next Seen In: Presumably Captain America: Civil War, but more than likely Thor: Ragnarok

Though Thor's role in AoU seemed more like a deus ex than bonafide Avenger, he was fairly caught up in his own head after having some terrible visions including of the Infinity Gems, which will have led him to believe that the Avengers are mere pawns in a much bigger scheme.

Bruce Banner a.k.a. Hulk

Next Seen In: Erm... possibly Captain America: Civil War...?

Gotta feel sorry for ol' Hulky. After finally finding somebody awesome to snuggle up to after Betty Ross, the events of AoU force him to reconsider his part in the world and his burgeoning romance with Romanoff. The only resolution in his mind is to disappear in the Quinjet to areas unknown. Well, known to the Avengers of course.

Natasha Romanoff a.k.a. Black Widow

Next Seen In: Captain America: Civil War

After having her heart stomped on by the big green monster of love, having her darkest memories being dredged up by a certain Witch and applying the smackdown to various goons across the globe, it's fair to say Widow was fairly jaded at the end of AoU. But being the consummate professional she is, she flicked those emotions off like a switch, and is now operating as right hand woman to Ol' Stars and Stripes.

Clint Barton a.k.a. Hawkeye

Next Seen In: Captain America: Civil War

I can imagine it must get a bit tiring chopping wood and mowing acres of land, but not for Barton, who we learned is quite the family man. He'll surely be on hand to take the call of Fury and Cap. He would've seen it coming! Excuse the pun.

Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. Scarlet Witch

Next Seen In: Captain America: Civil War

Topping the list of "People That Have Lost, Like, Pretty Much Everything In The MCU." the beautiful and terrifying Scarlet Witch surely has something to prove in Phase 3. Not letting her fleet-footed bro perish for nothing, she is now a member of Avengers v2.0, and a welcomed one at that.

Sam Wilson a.k.a. Falcon

Next Seen In: Captain America: Civil War

Also one of the newest members of the Avengers, his inclusion was a bit of a no-brainer seeings as he's a badass and... best bros with Cap. Currently going through a training montage at the hands of Cap and Widow, Falcon was most recently seen making new friends/allies in Ant-Man!

James Rhodes a.k.a. War Machine

Next Seen In: (Guess?) Captain America: Civil War

Drafted in to be the most trustworthy of Iron Badasses, Rhodesy wanted his time in the battle and it's sure as hell been thrust on him. Can't wait to see what he gets up to in Civil War!

The Vision

Next Seen In: Captain America: Civil War

The "love" child of J.A.R.V.I.S., Ultron and Thor is the protector of the only Infinity Stone on Earth, so believe he'll have a huge role to play in Phase 3. He managed to transcend badassery in AoU and shall hopefully continue to do so, with more phasing in and out of bad guys, please.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon and Groot

Next Seen In: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Last time we saw these guys, they'd just saved Xandar and were heading back out into the infinite sea of space to get up to some good and bad stuff. What's in store for them in the sequel to Phase 2's stand out movie is anyone's guess, but you can be sure of a few things:

Firstly, the film is gonna be awesome. Secondly, the soundtrack is gonna be awesome. And finally, maybe we'll be introduced to Quill's father...?

Scott Lang a.k.a. Ant-Man

Welcome to the MCU, you ant sized legend you! And what an introduction to the team Ant-Man was. After handing Yellowjacket's well-rounded abdomen to him, he's now being hunted by a Falcon and primed for a spot on the team of all teams. Not bad for a thief?

Nick Fury

Next Seen In: ???

After a pretty damn useful turn out in AoU, apparently the sky faring pirate-of- sorts won't be making an appearance in Civil War, which I don't believe for a second. We'll just have to wait and see.
