The gaming community has been ridiculously hyped for Tom Clancy's The Division ever since Ubisoft announced it. However, even though this game is coming out early next year, we still know very little about the actual gameplay. We've seen snippets of what to expect, though perhaps Gamescom will give us a clearer image of what's in store. But there's one gameplay element that I'd love to have in The Division, and that's stealth.

Taking a look at Ubisoft's most recent releases, I actually think that Far Cry 4 has the greatest stealth mechanics out of all of them. It even trumps Assassin's Creed: Unity in my opinion. Taking out an entire unit guarding a little village with your bow and arrow or the use of animals is far more satisfying than sneaking around in Unity. Therefore, I wonder whether The Division can actually make stealth even more enjoyable than Far Cry 4 did.

Tom Clancy's The Division - Taking Stealth Gameplay From Far Cry 4

Of course, Far Cry 4 had some of the craziest combat in any game, it was getting close to Just Cause madness at times. But the option to go in stealthily was always present and an option that I felt was a lot more enjoyable. Now obviously, The Division is an online RPG and it isn't going to be following its Tom Clancy brothers, Ghost Recon or Splinter Cell in terms of gameplay. I could say that it should follow Splinter Cell, but I thought I'd focus on Ubisoft's more recent efforts. But I really do advocate for the option to play The Division in a stealthy manner.

We know that melee combat is out of the question for The Division. But I still really want to be able to sneak up behind other players and take them out without alerting their teammates. The freedom to choose your approach is something that so many games offer in the industry and it'd be a shame if Tom Clancy's The Division was to take that from us.

Do You Want Stealth in The Division?

Am I alone in my desire for some great stealth mechanics in Ubisoft's online RPG? Generally stealth isn't an aspect that a lot of RPGs focus on, unless of course you're Deus Ex. But allowing players to take control of a game and play it how they see fit is what makes titles like The Division enjoy a healthy reception and an increased boost to long-lasting appeal.

Or will Ubisoft focus on more intense shootouts between NPCs and other players. Let us know what you think in the comments and if you agree that Far Cry 4 had some awesome stealth options!
