Don't get me wrong, I love my dad. But he sure does have some tough competition with these film dads!

1. Marlin from Finding Nemo

What’s not to love about Marlin? He’s a sweet guy who would do anything to protect his son, even swim through Jellyfish and join a club full of sharks. Although he can be a little overprotective sometimes, I’d do anything to swim next to this guy.

Best Moment: When Nemo lights up as he finds out about the journey his dad has taken to find him.

2. Goofy from A Goofy Movie

Sure Goofy loves a little too hard and is kind of a klutz most of the time, but he will do anything to make sure that his son knows how much he loves him.

Best Moment: Doing the perfect cast on stage with Powerline (the biggest rockstar on the planet, of course).

Bonus Moment: When they get pushed off of a cliff and sing “Nobody Else but You."

3. Mufasa from The Lion King

[cue tears] Mufasa is the ultimate dad. He’s full of wisdom, strength, kindness, and mercy. If I was Simba, I wouldn’t be able to wait to be king either, so I could be just like my dad and the example he showed.

Best Moment: When Mufasa is giving his son the talk about Pride Rock.

4. Dill Penderghast from Easy A

Olive’s father played by the fantastic Stanley Tucci is seriously who we all wish our dad was. Between the clever wordplay, reliability, and ability to understand and empathize with his daughter, he makes for the perfect dad.

Best Moment: When he 'discovers' that his son knows that he is adopted.

5. John Q from John Q

John Q is played by Denzel Washington, a man who goes to great lengths to get a heart transplant for his son. By great lengths, I mean he takes an entire hospital hostage… So, yeah... GREAT lengths.

Best Moment: When John Q is about to perform the ultimate act of love, sacrificing his own life for his son's, but right before he commits the act, they find a heart.

6. Chris Gardner from The Pursuit of Happyness

This heartfelt film is carried by Chris Gardner who is played by the genius that is Will Smith. Not only is his fictional son played by his real son, but Will Smith manages to be a hero in every step of a very difficult situation.

Best Moment: When Chris and his son have to spend the night in a restroom, Chris makes the situation great by playing a riveting game of pretend.

7. Bryan Mills from Taken

Say it with me now ... “I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you’re looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money but what I do have are a very particular set of skills…” If that doesn’t say badass dad, I don’t know what does.

Best Moment: The phone call, of course.

8. Tom Baker from Cheaper by the Dozen

Even with twelve kids, a job as a college football coach, and a wife on a book tour, this guy still somehow manages to be father of the year.

Best Moment: When all of the kids show up at the game to support their amazing dad.

9. Daddy Warbucks from Annie

It took some time to soften him up, but once Annie found her way into Daddy Warbucks’ heart, there was no getting out of there. I know what you’re thinking, You only want Daddy Warbucks to be your dad so that you can live in a mansion, and all I have to say is…you’re absolutely right.

Best Moment: "I Don't Need Anything But You."
