Anyone who has followed along with Skye's storyline on [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.](tag:722469) this past season knows that we've seen her evolve from Skye, gifted human hacker, into Daisy Johnson, earthquaking Inhuman. But even so, her transformation hasn't been fully complete; she's still halfway between being Skye and embracing her real identity of Daisy, a.k.a. Quake.

But actress Chloe Bennett took one step closer yesterday to fully becoming something truer to the original comic book character by posting a video to her Instagram that shows her getting her traditionally long locks chopped for the upcoming season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

In the comics, Daisy Johnson rocks some ultra-cool, seriously short locks. Longtime comic book readers recognize her more as the below picture than what we've seen on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. so far:

The fact that Daisy's character was originally modeled after the hacker character Angelia Jolie played in Hackers is really evident in that panel, no?

And while the sleek bob is totally befitting of the full-on badass that Skye has become throughout this past season, Bennett reassured freaking-out fans that they're not going quite that short for the TV show.

Which prompted fellow AoS castmate Luke Mitchell (Lincoln) to have a little fun with the situation:

I mean, I, for one, think that seeing HawkhairCage™ would send any Hydra agent -- and rational human being -- screaming in terror, I don't think that's quite the look they're going for.

Long hair or short, I'm looking forward to watching Skye's continued march toward being the most compelling character on a show filled with great characters.

Have you caught up with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
