The trailer for the new James Bond film Spectre dropped today and we got our first look at the new villains the new love interest and the new toys.

What I love most about the trailer is we still don’t know what Christoph Waltz’s deal is. We have an idea, and it’s presumed he’s the main antagonist but we don’t know for sure.

Here’s what we do know about Christoph Waltz’s character.

His name is Franz Oberhauser and he’s presumed to be the son of Hannes Oberhauser. For those who remember Hannes is said to have been like a second father to James after the death of his two parents. The only thing the studio has said about Franz is that he has a past connection to Bond. As for Waltz the only thing he's said is that his character is defiantly not like the supervillain Ernst Stavro Blofeld. For you young folks out there, Ernst Stavro Blofeld was the inspiration for Dr. Evil in the Austin Powers films.

So, we know that he’s not the big bad supervillain, but he is something along those lines. I propose that his past with Bond is friendship, they were friends growing up. That would make sense seeing how Franz’s father was very close to Bond. Franz will somehow use their past to his advantage.

I love Christoph Waltz because he plays bad so good. He’s also hilarious, but better at playing evil and shady characters. Sadly he’s defiantly typecast because of his this talent, we want to see is him play that same role but with different names and mannerisms. I’m not complaining, wherever there is good there will be evil and we’ll always need someone to play that part and he’s great at it. I love is that he’s great at convincing the audience that he might be the good guy, that there are reasons for his horrible actions. We know he’s awful but dammit we like him!

Carissa's top Christoph Waltz roles.

Inglorious Bastards (2009)

Big Eyes (2014)

Side note: I feel like not enough people saw this film. It was amazing and tells a wonderful story. Its one of my absolute favorite Waltz roles, because he's an evil horrible con-man but he's doing it without gratuitous violence.

Carnage (2011)

Side Note: I know most haven't seen this film, I suggest you google it and find a way to watch it, it's really good.

Django Unchained (2012)

Spectre hits the theaters November 6, 2015
