Who done it? Where? And with what weapon? These three questions are the object of the Parker Brothers game, 'Clue', and also the premise for the 1985 film with the same name. There seems to be a trend of 1980s films getting reboots and this film is certainly the perfect candidate. Clue spins a tale of mystery and deceit with quite a few unexpected murders along the way. Just when you think you know who did it, BOOM, plot twist! With a younger cast this movie has the potential to be awesome! Here are my picks for a Clue reboot...

Wadsworth

Original: Tim Curry, my pick: Sacha Baron Cohen
Original: Tim Curry, my pick: Sacha Baron Cohen

Tim Curry is certainly a tough act to follow, but if anyone could reprise his role as Wadsworth, the butler, it would be Sacha Baron Cohen. This hilarious actor known for starring in Borat, Bruno and The Dictator would certainly bring a sense of freshness to this character.

Mrs. Peacock

Original: Eileen Brennan, my pick: Melissa McCarthy
Original: Eileen Brennan, my pick: Melissa McCarthy

The role of Mrs. Peacock could be the start of a new era for Melissa McCarthy who always gets typecast into roles based on her looks. Peacock is certainly the quirkiest female character of this film, which would suit Melissa McCarthy perfectly!

Mrs. White

Original: Madeline Kahn, my pick: Vanessa Hudgens
Original: Madeline Kahn, my pick: Vanessa Hudgens

As said in the movie, Mrs. White is a very pale, tragic woman and based on Vanessa Hudgen's recent role as Agnes in 'Gimme Shelter', she certainly seems up to the task. She has the right look and could most definitely pull of the "woe is me" attitude of Mrs. White.

Professor Plum

Original: Chris Lloyd, my pick: Colin O'Donoghue
Original: Chris Lloyd, my pick: Colin O'Donoghue

Best known for his role as Captain Hook in ABC's 'Once Upon a Time,' Colin O'Donoghue is my pick for Professor Plum, the family planning psychiatrist who lost his license for doing the "no pants dance" with his female patients (tisk, tisk, doctor). He'll have to shed the hook and eyeliner, but O'Donoghue is certainly still swoon-worthy without. His charm and quick wit could take this film to another level!

Mr. Green

Original: Michael McKean, my pick: Jonah Hill
Original: Michael McKean, my pick: Jonah Hill

This was one of the harder characters for me to chose, but Jonah Hill wins the role of Mr. Green for me. He is extremely awkward and tries way too hard to play it cool which seems right up Hill's alley.

Colonel Mustard

Original: Martin Mull, my pick: Chris Pratt
Original: Martin Mull, my pick: Chris Pratt

Pretty much any fan casting of mine will have Chris Pratt in it. He is an extremely versatile actor who would be great as Colonel Mustard, a war veteran. Of all the characters in this movie, the Colonel is probably the funniest, even though he tries very hard to be serious. Although the characters are in different context, he is very similar to Pratt's character on Parks and Recreation, Andy Dwyer.

Miss Scarlet

Original: Lesley Warren, my pick: Hayley Atwell
Original: Lesley Warren, my pick: Hayley Atwell

Miss Scarlet is one pretty bad-ass lady and the same can certainly be said for "Agent Carter" star Hayley Atwell. She has proven in her role as Peggy Carter that she is a force to be reckoned with in the world of strong, beautiful women.

Yvette

Original: Colleen Camp,my pick: Kate Upton

Do I really need to explain this choice? Hopefully Kate Upton can pull off a good French accent for the role of Yvette, the maid.

Mr. Boddy

Original: Lee Ving, my pick: Toby Moore
Original: Lee Ving, my pick: Toby Moore

The sinister, mischievous, evil (or so we think) Mr. Boddy really throws off the crew of dinner guests when he reveals his identity. Toby Moore not only has the look, but also has the snarky, know-it-all attitude necessary to portray Mr. Boddy as evident in his role as James Wesley in the Netflix series "Daredevil."

Other minor roles

The Cop: Nick Offerman

The Singing Telegram Girl: Kristen Schall

The Motorist: Aziz Ansari

The Cook: Retta

What do you think?

I totally understand that Clue is one of those obscure 1980's movies that (probably) very few people have seen but with this all-star cast, a modernized script and some great directing this movie has some serious potential. Please let me know what you think of my fan casting and if there are any better candidates for these roles!
