Dark Souls 3 will finally be shown to the public at Gamescom next month and I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on that demo. From Software have spoken about how Miyazaki's Bloodborne has influenced the combat and pace of Dark Souls 3, and I'm sure we'll all be surprised by the alterations they've introduced. However, are players more engaged with Bloodborne itself at the moment?
The Souls series is one of the greatest things to happen to Video Games - that may sound like hyperbole, but I adore this franchise. Having just finished [Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin](tag:2768294), I don't feel like I'll ever have enough of these worlds. But while I'm insanely excited to see what changes have come with Dark Souls 3, the Bloodborne expansion DLC is something that has me far too excited.
Bloodborne DLC vs Dark Souls 3 - Which Release Date Has Your Vote?
Bloodborne is a compelling masterpiece. The way in which it has expanded upon the basics of the Souls games' combat is remarkable. Hidetaka Miyazaki is one of the greatest directors in the industry today, and seeing as he isn't directing Dark Souls 3, I'm wondering whether the next instalment will be similar to Dark Souls 2 - which lacked the power of the two previous games. Therefore, Bloodborne's DLC really has me on edge. When will they announce its release date?! Will it be on par with what Dark Souls 2 introduced? Even Kotaku argued that the expansion packs to this game contain some of the best moments in the series.
Therefore, we have a few ideas of what the Bloodborne expansion DLC may contain, but whether it'll be on par with the rest of the series or even this glorious game, remains to be seen. Gamescom will probably change my mind though. A half hour with Dark Souls 3 is probably enough to already immerse me in its incredibly dark lore and fresh take on combat.
I can't wait to see how this series grows and matures. It's been a while since Demon's Souls appeared on my PS3 but it's been an absolute pleasure to see the Souls series become such a remarkable phenomenon in the gaming world. What are your hopes for the future of the series, and do you think the Bloodborne DLC will arrive before the release date of Dark Souls 3 in 2016?
So where do you stand Souls fans? Does the prospect of more Bloodborne entice you more than a whole new Dark Souls experience? Let us know where you stand in the comments!
