Since the moment the first movie was released, The Hunger Games was a flat-out phenomenon. The story of Katniss Everdeen and her fight against an oppresive government regime has struck a chord with the public consciousness and come this November, her fight will come to an end in cinemas.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt 1 was received with mixed reviews. Fans of the books understood that there was a slow buildup leading to epic confrontation in the final chapter. However, movie audiences were largely confused or simply bored by the exposition heavy narrative. Well, it looks like they have saved all the of the best for last, as all of the districts look to storm the capital in an attempt to assassinate President Snow. This looks like the true culmination of all the previous films, that looks bent on rectifying the issues with the last film, while adding some fun new twists and surprises.
It looks like November will be a busy month for movie releases, with most studios trying to stay far away from the release of [Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens](tag:711158). A week after The Hunger Games is opens the next James Bond movie, Spectre, will be released. The winter movie going season is looking as jam-packed as the summer and we should all benefit from it. With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her.
