BEFORE THE MOVIE: Despite being a box office bomb, this film was a critical smash hit, having a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I'm really looking forward to watch this movie and I sincerely hope I will like it as much as the critics did.
AFTER THE MOVIE: This movie is amazingly amazing with so many amazements.
First off, the performances are incredible. Jack O'Connell is a really good actor and he really makes a believable and credible performance as a soldier who needs help. And all of the other actors are great in it as well.
The movie has some really intense, nail-biting chase scenes because everyone is looking for him. The chase scenes are superbly choreographed with some shaky cam usage that I REALLY didn't mind AT ALL. I thought it added more to the brutality and realism of this movie, because yes, this film is extremely brutal and not for the faint of heart. The film's final act which takes place at "Divis Flat" is amazingly shot and the final battle feels like I'm playing GTA. The cinematography is beautiful and it had me immersed. I was on the edge of my seat the whole entire time. This is, by far, my favorite movie of the year.
Since it's my favorite film of the year, I don't have anything negative to point out. So this review is short and to the point.
