X-Men meet the Fantastic 4: let's make this happen

Say what you want about Fox. But they have been better than Sony in their own Marvel franchise. Bryan Singer and Matthew Vaughns' X-Men Series of movies have revitalised the franchise. Josh Tranks' The Fantastic Four reboot is sure to be a hit. Now Singer has stated that a possible crossover is likely.

Could we be seeing a X-Men and Fantastic Four crossover?

Fans were happy when director Bryan Singer used [X-Men: Days Of Future Past](tag:203942) as an opportunity to clean house after several unloved entries in the franchise wrecked havoc with characters and continuity. Now it seems Singer might perform that same function on the yet-to-be-released Fantastic Four, using that most Marvel of tactics: An X-Men and Fantastic Four crossover.

“Those ideas are in play,” he told Yahoo Movies. “That would be a natural match-up because they’re both ensemble films and there is a natural mechanism by which to do it. It deals with time. That’s all I’m going to say.”

Now a crossover is only likely IF the Fantastic Four movie is a success. Now after the third trailer fan reaction has gained in excitement. Tranks movie has definitely got a huge reaction but judging from the teaser trailers and cast it has become more positive.

Of course the X-Men are ahead of the game when it comes to the movie franchise. Fox need to implement at least a Fantastic Four trilogy before doing a crossover. Having a crossover now will do nothing for the Four franchise. The characters need to develop into household names before doing a crossover.

If Fox did one in two years the Four character would be marginalised by Wolverine. Much like when Wolverine is in every X-Men movie, he is main billing. I hope that Fox wait and develop their own universe into something special.
