Of course we all know about the MCU and what it has done for cinema. The Avengers have practically changed the face of movies all together. With a new Spider-man on the horizon, Black Panther, rumors of a Hulk film and many more, what chance does DC have, to compete with movies that have already grossed well into the billions worldwide? DC is going to have to shake things up and do something different than the traditional superhero films they have done in the past.
Comic-con this year boiled down to a fictitious battle between Marvel and DC. From the reports that came in, DC came out on top hands down. During that battle, another battle began to unfold. It was a battle between 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice', and 'The Suicide Squad'. This is where things get interesting, based on the trailers that were shown.
DC is giving us a movie about the suicide squad, a movie where we are suppose to root for the bad guy. A movie where the bad guys are called in to save the day. On the same token, we see a trailer for Batman v Superman, where we have a riddled older Batman, who is fed up with life to an extent. He is tired, angry and more vengeful than we have ever seen the dark knight.
And there's this..
So it begs the question is DC setting us up with something fresh and interesting where we all hate Batman and actually root for the Joker and the rest of the "Squad", if not at least for a while? I realize DC won't let you hate the the Justice League forever, they are the heroes after all. But I feel like maybe they are going to take a shot at making us really dislike Batman at first. until he pulls himself together.
I truly believe DC is going to pull something amazing out of their collective hat. With these two movies in position to do really well, I begs the question. What will the DC Cinematic Universe have to do, to even begin to chip away at the success of the MCU? And not just become a casualty.. My vote is, make us love the bad guys.
You know you already love this!
