Batman is without a doubt one of the world’s most iconic superheroes. Created in May 1939 by Bill Finger and Bob Kane, the character has been around even longer than the likes of Spider-Man, The Avengers and the X-Men, and his lasting appeal has seen him star in a huge number of movies, TV shows, video games, and so much more. Why is it then that people somehow relate to a privileged billionaire who couldn’t be any more different to them?
Perhaps it’s because under all of the expensive gadgets, the Caped Crusader is just a man. He can’t fly and he’s not super strong. He goes out there every night and puts his life on the line to protect the city he cares about and the people who live in it, no matter the cost.
