OMG! What a week! We all deserve a break and lucky for us all who are of legal age and who don't have a drinking problem, it's National Tequila Day! Oh, and it's also the 30th anniversary of Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. So you know what that means?

We have exactly 472 days, 9 hours, 39 minutes, and 3 seconds until the next Presidential election. Wait! What? I could have sworn with all the Donald Trump mudslinging that's going on, we were a lot closer than that! Oh, well and least it’s fun to watch.

So, in honor the 471 days we have left of political mudslinging, here are some political TV show and movies that do drama and comedy just a tad bit better than The Donald.

Drink and binge watch responsibly!

Drama:

The West Wing ( Netflix, Google Play and Amazon Instant)

Bartlet/Santos 2016!!!!!

Boss (Netflix and Google Play)

Holy moly! I wish more people watched this show, then it wouldn't have been canceled. The show follows Tom Kane(Kelsey Grammer) the fictional mayor Chicago, who hiding a serious health condition in order to stay in power. Sex, drugs, lying, you name it its in this show.

Scandal (ABC.com, Netflix, Google Play, and VUDU)

Ugh, I had to include it because it's one of the hottest shows on TV right now. I personally have a love hate relationship with this show. Its about Washington "fixer" Olivia Pope and her team of "gladiators" as they run around Washington fixing the mistakes of rich and powerful. Oh, she's also spending adult sexy time with the married President of the United States. Murder, sex, drugs, torture, lies, corruption, it has it all. Be prepared to yell "what the F**K! a lot.

Comedy:

Spin City (DVD Only) I know, I know but it was a really good show I had to include it.

There's not a lot of good political sitcoms actually i think there are only two and I'm going to recommend them both. Spin City is about the fictional Mayor of New York and his staff as they try to run the city that never sleeps. It's funny, thoughtful and full of heart.

Veep (Amazon, HBO.com, VUDU,Google Play)

I LOVE this show! I should post the trailer but I think the clip i selected is a better representation of the show. Just watch it. You'll love it!

Movies:

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (Amazon,Google Play, VUDU, and YouTube)

One of the best political satires ever made. To sum up, it's a satirized version of the Cold War and the tensions between the U.S.S.R and America. It's about a crazy General who orders nuclear bombs to be dropped on the Soviet Union and the President and his staff who try to stop it from happening. It's a great old film that everyone should watch.

Election (Netflix)

I think everyone's seen Election and think everyone has meet an real life Tracy Flick. If you are one of the odd ducks who hasn't seen this little gem of a film you should watch it. High School politics at it's best!

Have a Happy and safe weekend everyone!
