Black Ops 3 will be available on XBOX One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 6th and Call of Duty fans are particularly excited about what lies in store. But when it comes to picking up the latest release of Activision's acclaimed series, where do your loyalties lie? Is it the multiplayer that keeps you coming back every year? Do you actually care about the campaign?
For me personally, I've never been a massive fan of multiplayer in Call of Duty. Therefore, zombies was the thing to go to in Black Ops, and before that Spec Ops in Modern Warfare 2 was one of the most enjoyable FPS modes ever. Campaigns have also been tremendous fun in the past, though they've been pretty awful lately. So, what will keep us returning to Black Ops 3 though on its release date?
Black Ops 3 - What Are You Looking Forward to On Release Date?
To be honest, even though Activision have some of the greatest shooting mechanics in any video game, what I'm looking forward to the most with Black Ops 3 is Jeff Goldblum. JEFF GOLDBLUM!!! He'll actually be one of the characters in Black Ops 3's zombie mode alongside Heather Graham and Ron Perlman. It's obvious where my loyalties lie when Jeff Goldblum's involved.
The campaign in the original Black Ops from 2010 presented me with one of the darkest moments I'd experienced in an FPS. Spec Ops: The Line has since given us more morbid sequences, but the Vietnam section in Black Ops was remarkably depressing. It came to define what I'd expect from future Black Ops titles, though none have really live up to the power of the original. I hope that Black Ops 3 features flashbacks in its campaign and that Activision aren't going to completely abandon previous wars. Black Ops 3 is a little too close to Advanced Warfare for my liking.
The Call of Duty franchise has one of the most played multiplayers in the industry. Players adore mastering all of the new introductions that Activision have introduced throughout the years and I'm sure that Black Ops 3 will be no exception. Advanced Warfare introduced a kind of speed and verticality that the series had never seen before, Black Ops 3 will expand upon that promise. Is this the mode that keeps you coming back to the COD franchise? Is this what you can't wait to play on the release date of Black Ops 3?
Zombies have been the corner stone of Black Ops since it first arrived. Activision even tried to capitalize on its success with introducing zombies into Advanced Warfare. Though of course it was DLC. In any case, with a brand new campaign to enjoy and the promise of even more options in zombie mode, this is the biggest draw for me with Black Ops 3. But where do your loyalties lie gamers?
