Here is the cure to your Netflix boredom!
If you have landed on this article then you too are thirsty for that sweet Netflix addiction. You have watched every movie you can think of and now you search the internet for something new. It has to be good and it has to be intriguing. So I did the dirty digging for you and found 2 movies and a TV series that you need to watch. So lets go to the list (everyone loves lists, right?).
3. Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley’s Island of Dr. Moreau (2014)
Behind the scenes chronicle of how clash of vision, bad creative decisions, lack of interest and really bad weather plagued the disastrous production of the infamous 1996 remake of The Island of Dr. Moreau.
Holy crap, is this movie truly an intriguing journey. I started this movie the other day with no knowledge of who Richard Stanley was. Then I recognized his debut hit which was Hardware (1990) starring Dylan McDermott. This is a documentary that goes into what came next in the young rock star like directors life. The Island of Dr. Moreau. A man who gets fired from his film and somehow ends up becoming his own monster. This movie is a crazy journey onto how Hollywood can really kill creativity sometimes. Trust me on this one, go watch it.
2. Halt & Catch Fire Season One
Set in the early 1980s, this series dramatizes the personal computing boom through the eyes of a visionary, an engineer and a prodigy whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time. Their personal and professional partnership will be challenged by greed and ego while charting the changing culture in Texas' Silicon Prairie.
This show is truly fantastic and I have found myself hooked. It is set in the early 80's in the prime of the computer industry. The characters really grow on you as the show goes on. Joe MacMillan (Lee Pace) plays an almost maniac character that wants to build his own monster of a machine. He basically plays everyone he knows to get his vision completed. Its an up and down roller coaster with this show and will have you addicted after a few episodes. This show is rather slow at times so please give it a few episodes before you make your final judgement. The last 4 episodes are amazing and I am season 2 is currently rocking it on the AMC right .
When a videographer answers a Craigslist ad for a one-day job in a remote mountain town, he finds his client is not at all what he initially seems.
Okay this movie is actually quite creepy despite the main viallain being played the funny Mark Duplass. He has made quite a few great indie films before like The Puffy Chair. In this film, he plays a stalker who invites a man to film him because he is dying and he wants to leave this video as memento of his life. What follows is a crazy trip into a nightmare situation. While not the scariest movie in the world, it is a crazy ride.
