Wow!!! The most recent incarnations of Sherlock Holmes just keep on coming down to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now it has been reported that Rachel McAdams who plays Irene Adler in both Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows opposite Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) is in talks with Marvel to appear in the lead female role for Doctor Strange.

She has officially confirmed talks. But there is no report on which character she will be playing in the movie when it hits in November 2016. Best guess she could play (according to Cinema Blend) Clea, who is romantically involved with Doctor Strange in the comics.

So if she is officially in for a deal with Marvel, she will star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch (the other Sherlock Holmes) in the title role, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo.

According to Marvel, Doctor Strange is set for a release date in November 2016 and is a part of the MCU Phase 3 lineup while it is set to take place in a post [Captain America: Civil War](tag:994409) setting. Since it is the next film for Marvel to go into production, this totally makes sense.

What do you think about Rachel McAdams joining the MCU? Who do you think she should be in Doctor Strange? Leave your thoughts down below.
