It's now been made abundantly clear that time has been very, very kind to Jennifer Lopez.

Last Friday, she astounded us when she stepped out to celebrate her birthday in a knockout dress that not only flaunted her world-famous derriere and insane cleavage. Over her 25-year career, the starlet has only gone from strength to strength, and edging closer 50, she is the epitome of an ageless superstar with a bangin' bod. I mean, just take a look at this image of Hollywood perfection:

In celebration of the greatness that is J-Lo, let's took take a moment to remind ourselves of her wild journey to becoming the goddess that she is today.

Humble beginnings & big dreams of stardom

J.Lo as a Fly Girl dancer

Ever since she was a little girl, Jen knew she wanted to be in movies. After dropping out of college, she moved to New York, becoming a back-up dancer for New Kids on the Block in 1991. With time, this led to an opportunity on sketch comedy show In Living Color, for which she was a Fly Girl dancer. Check her out doing her thing in this short solo-dance clip below:

Floundering first-appearances in movies

Slowly, Jennifer continued to learn more about the industry, attempting to get involved as much as possible. In the early '90s, she starred in numerous TV shows and minor film roles such as in Jack (with Robin Williams!), Money Train and My Family, which actually won her the Best Supporting Actress Independent Spirit Award. Here she is in an image taken from the movie:

Gaining critical acclaim

Clearly, things were looking up for young Jen and the final years of the '90s promised a bright future. As well as starring as the beloved Mexican-American singer Selena a movie of the same title, her leading role in Anaconda really allowed her to rise up in the ranks in Hollywood.

If you remember, the movie is about a film crew that is taken hostage by a crazy hunter, with even more insane goals of capturing the world's deadliest snake. Take a peek at the trailer below:

Yet, it was Out of Sight alongside George Clooney that cemented her star-status. With the 1998 hit, Jennifer became the first Latina actress to earn more than $1 million for a role in Tinsel Town.

Music career launch

Yet it seems that movies weren't enough for the star, and in 1999 she decided to delve into music, launching her first track "If You Had My Love," which went straight to the top of the charts. The following years would solidify her position as one of the biggest names in the music industry and with outfits like the one below, it's not surprising she was one of the most talked about stars of the moment:

And when her album "J.Lo" and movie The Wedding Planner both came out in January 2001, she became the first star to top both the charts and the box office at the same time!

Engagement to Ben Affleck

Yep, remember when that was a thing? She even dedicated her album "This Is Me... Then" to him. Awkward.

A series of lows followed

When her romance with Ben came to an abrupt halt, her career also took a turn and seemed to spiral out of control. For example, her movie Gigli was a horrendous flop and only made about a tenth of $75 million spent on it at the box office. Jersey Girl wasn't any better either, really.

Thankfully, things started slightly looking up with Shall We Dance? with Richard Gere and Monster-In-Law alongside Jane Fonda.

The Marc Anthony years

Back on track, Jen fell head-over-hells in love with Latin superstar Marc Anthony, who she married in 2004. With his inspiration, she worked on a Spanish-language album, and they starred in a biopic together that chronicled the life of performer Héctor Lavoe.

American Idol

Signing on to American Idol, Jen finally got the revival that she needed, taking in a whopping $20 million salary for her time on the show. And her dance tune "On the Floor" scaled the charts and did pretty well too.

The Dance Again World Tour

In 2012, J.Lo wowed us even more with her first headlining tour in years. As well as releasing a greatest hits album, she also voiced a character in Ice Age: Continental Drift and divorced Marc Anthony.

J. Lo is as saucy and sexy as ever

Riding on the continued success of American Idol, Jen's early 2014 career was going from strength to strength. From her "I Luh Ya Papi" music vid, to her impressive booty slapping and gyrating techniques with Iggy Azalea in "Booty," after years of many ups and downs, it was confirmed - Queen J.Lo's behind still ruled supreme.

And just in case you missed it, here's another fantastic GIF from the "Booty" music video:

J.Lo today...

Undeniably, she's come a long way. She's been a dancer, a model, a pop star, an actress, a judge, and arguably still has the most iconic behind on the planet. Even Kim Kardashian was ready to bow down to her after seeing pictures of her from last weekend:

She captioned the Instagram post:

Damn!!!!! How hot does @jlo look!!!!! She will forever be my idol!!!!

I mean, the woman is 46-years-old for goodness sake. She's also a woman with 7-year-old twins, she's not wearing any underwear and has somehow managed to pull off what basically looks like a sheer body stocking. And the best part is that, in my opinion, she looks the most flawless she's looked EVER!

If this is her now, imagine what she'll be like at 50...
