The return of the CW show The Originals is shaping up to be the most interesting season yet. It has many new characters coming in to challenge the Mikaelson family, and the new season looks to be shaking things up a bit. Their past is definitely coming back to haunt them, as the vampires whom they first changed are returning and are none too happy with their "parents".
With the return of old family members, though, comes flashbacks of the Mikaelson family history. And where there are flashbacks there are sure to be guest stars:
While Julie Plec has mentioned wanting to have Nathaniel Buzolic reprise his role as the mischievous Kol Mikaelson, he has finally opened up about his possible return to the role, which he played in Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries
From what I understand, this is going to be a very flashback heavy season, which is cool, because that means there is more opportunity for Kol to come back and you can see him.
He is starring in another show at the moment, Significant Mother, but he has rest assured his fan base that he will make time for The Originals.
"I made it clear when I signed on to 'Significant Mother' that I wanted to also be available for 'The Originals' if the opportunity came up. I’m incredibly grateful to Julie Plec for giving me that opportunity; being a part of that show has been a life-changing experience for me. I’ll always have a soft spot for that character.”
Last season fans were treated to the return of Kol, just in a different body, played by Daniel Sharman. He ended up dying, leaving behind a very broken hearted and vengeful girlfriend, Davina. She has vowed to bring Kol back, and with Nathaniel willing to return I can't help but wonder if perhaps he will be returning in his true form. Will we perhaps be getting more of Kol than we bargained for? Only time will tell.
The Originals returns Thursday, October 8th to the CW
