To say that gaming has evolved would be a huge understatement. Compared to those square graphics and block colours in PlayStation 1 games, and those classics such as Pac-Man and Space Invaders, games today sell millions of copies and are exquisite. Just to watch them is a real joy because they are so visually stunning, and as we play as those loveable characters shooting zombies or jumping over tall buildings, we are absorbed by this world and the amazing plot lines. I think some of these games could be turned into awesome movies.

1) The Last of Us

Yes! I would love to see this movie. Joe and Ellie are two of my favourite game characters ever and I especially love them together. It was wonderful to see their relationship develop in the game and for me the ending was perfect. It wasn't too much, leaving room for a possible sequel and it wasn't disappointing either. The Last of Us wasn't a typical zombie-shooting game, or at least I didn't think so. It has the potential to be a hit movie because it has all the elements a good film needs: brilliant characters you get attached to, great story line, plenty of action and conveys a zombie apocalypse as realistically as is possible. The Last of Us would also make compulsive viewing as a TV series, but I fear that it would be too similar to The Walking Dead.

2) The Wolf Among Us

I am a huge fan of Telltale games, creators of The Wolf Among Us. This would be a superb movie and quirky too, since it would combine crime, fantasy, horror and action in a unique fashion. One of the things I loved about this amazing game was the colours, so I'd love to see that vibrancy on the big screen too. I'd also be interested to see who would play who since there are so many interesting characters in The Wolf Among Us: Snow White, Belle and Beast, The Little Mermaid, and the Big Bad Wolf are just a few examples. If this film came out I'd be first in line for front row seats!

3) Outlast

This game is terrifying - and it would make a brilliant horror movie. Part of me doesn't want to give anyone this idea because I don't think I'd be brave enough to go see this on the big screen, but this was one of the best horror games and the trailer received millions of views on YouTube. Outlast, for me, was entertaining to watch because it made so many famous YouTube gamers scream like little girls. I think you could create a lot of tension and fear in the films by keeping the first person view in the running scenes so it feels like the person watching the film is running away from one of the crazy asylum patients. I like the storyline behind the asylum too and that the main character is there to investigate - I would love to see this movie.

4) [Assassin's Creed](tag:437814) series

Guess what? This IS going to be a movie! I can't wait to see it! Imagine the costumes, the set, and Desmond's genetic memories triggered by the "Animus" being brought to life. That would be so awesome! Assassin's Creed is such a clever idea and I would be obsessed with the movies. Or would they work better as a TV series since there are quite a few Assassin's Creed games? It would feel like it's never going to end then, but I'm more than happy with an upcoming movie - yay!

5) 5 Nights at Freddy's

This probably seems an odd choice. It's just a cool horror game filled with jump-scares - but bear with me. I love this game and was incredibly excited to discover that the forth game has been released! This started out as an indie game that has become incredibly popular because, despite the odd-sounding idea, it is genuinely scary and very creative. What I really love about the FNAF games is the complex and intriguing story behind it. Or is is just a theory?

Above is a video from The Game Theorists on YouTube, where Matt Pat explains the theory behind the first FNAF game. I can't wait for him to make a video explaining FNAF 4 because he always finds evidence that there is a hidden story (possibly based on true events!) in the games. I think this could make a really good film if the back story was included more. Those animatronics are terrifying!

There are so many more games that I would love to see hit the big screen, or at least be turned into T.V shows - but I believe these five games would be the best because of what you could include. You can have the best of everything: plenty of action and suspense, an enticing plot, edge-of-your-seat viewing, loveable characters and special effects that are out of this world. All of these elements make the perfect movie, right?

So what do you think? Have more ideas? Comment them below!
