Though last summer was absolutely rammed with bonafide blockbusters, like X-Men: Days of Future Past, Godzilla and Guardians of the Galaxy, the second spot* for "surprise hit of the summer" saw Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt's Edge of Tomorrow tear off into the distance with the award firmly clasped in the grasp of their rugged exoskeletons.
But if you were either pleasantly surprised or completely over the moon, you'll be happy to hear that talk of a sequel is beginning to heat up. And that's from the mouth of Tom Cruise himself.
At the red carpet premiere for Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Cruise told MTV News that an idea for the sleeper hit had managed to sidle its way into his luxuriously coiffured head, though he never actually got around to properly explaining it:
"I pitched it to [“Rogue Nation” director and “Edge of Tomorrow” screenwriter Christopher] McQuarrie and [“Edge of Tomorrow” director] Doug [Liman]. We were there one night and I was like, I’ve got an idea for it.
It could be so much fun. Gotta get Emily. I was like Emily, please. She was like, ’give me another year, please.'"
Wonderfully cryptic, but exciting nonetheless right?
What do you think?

*I say second spot, because GotG was by far the stand out hit of the summer!
