With all the hype over the next batch of Star Wars movies, people have begun to speculate what their standalone movies will be. They have announced the first one will be Rogue One. They are calling these standalone movies, The Anthology Series. With the first movie focusing on the Rouge Squadron that helped defeat the Empire. Here is the official description from Disney on what the movie will be about:

A band of resistance fighters unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans in the Star Wars Anthology film, Rogue One.

I for one am happy to see any kind of Star Wars movie. Which got me thinking of which Anthology movies I would wanna see. There are so many big and small characters that would make perfect Anthology movies. So lets delve into my top 3 picks for an Anthology film.

1. Obi-Wan Kenobi

It's pretty clear that Ewan McGregor's portrayal of Obi-Wan Kenobi was one of the best things from the prequels. Many fans want him to have his own movie and I too think that is a great idea. He is the perfect age to play Obi-Wan Kenobi set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. You can have it set on Tatooine and show how he went from soldier to hermit. Have a scene where he meets a young Luke. Maybe even have him speak to Uncle Owen about the boys destiny and have Owen tell him off. Have him face off against Jawas, Tuskan Raiders and the occasional Stormtrooper.

There are so many option they could take with an Obi-Wan movie and I would be down to take the adventure. Obi-Wan Kenobi is arguably one of the most beloved character from both of the trilogies. I think most of us Star Wars fans can agree, we need more Obi-Wan Kenobi and we need it now.

2. Yoda

An interesting Anthology could be about our favorite little guy, Yoda. Having the story take place before the prequels. Show how a young Yoda rose to such a powerful position on the Jedi council. It would be really cool to see the world of Star Wars before the stories we all know. It could also be a good way to establish official cannon for Yoda.

Now, I wouldn't be so keen on a Yoda standalone had I not seen this amazing concept art done by Marco Teixeira. It shows what in his mind, a young Jedi warrior Yoda would look like. It got me super stoked and if they ever do make a standalone, I hope they go in this direction. Here is some history on how Yoda became a Jedi:

They spent a few days there before being found by a strange being: Hysalrian Jedi Master N'Kata Del Gormo, who revealed to them both that they were very much Force-sensitive. The Jedi Master invited Yoda to become his apprentice, also known as a Padawan.

3. Boba Fett

And finally the fan favorite, Boba Fett. What kid/adult doesn't love this bad ass. He may have died in the Sarlac pit but we all hope he didn't. They really could make a movie with him in about any time period of the movies. You could show how he becomes the assassin we all know and love or you could show him blasting his way out of the Sarlac pit for a new adventure.

There is also another theory that if they do an Anthology starring Boba Fett that it could just be someone who has taken on his armor. If you were an assassin, stealing his armor or making it look the same pretty much makes you Boba Fett. No one really knows who he is (besides Obi-Wan) and with this they can pretty much make a new Boba. Take that theory with a grain of salt but I want to see him back on the big screen. Hopefully they know their fan base wants this and end up making one.
