BEFORE THE MOVIE: WELCOME TO THE VERY FIRST EPISODE OF "CULT SPOTLIGHT", where we will discuss about films that weren't necessarily good, but garnered a fanbase and a cult following. The result, a sequel this year. Now before I talk about "Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2", let me talk about the first film. It's been EONS (2009) since I've seen this movie. So before I watch the 2nd one, it's vital that I re-watch the first one to situate myself. Let's give it a go.
BLART BLART BLART BLART
AFTER THE MOVIE: Oh god......this is not what I remember from it. First off, there are some genuinely funny moments in it, especially by Kevin James. He is hilarious in it. Also, this movie has some great parkour stunts.
Now, I didn't remember the movie being poorly edited. It's edited to crap major scenes were CUT-OUT so you don't understand why BLART is buying a birthday card.....for who? Some fight scenes are missing scenes. They fight in a mall and then TELEPORTATION to the ROOF. The villain is lackluster. He has a pretty weak motivation. There is a double-cross in this movie that is absolutely useless and is only used for more time and could've easily NOT have it, and the movie would still be a piece of manure. It's definitely not as I remembered it. Back when it came out, I went to see the film and it was in my top 100 comedies of ALL-TIME. Now, it's out.
