♪ What ever happened to predictability? ♪
You all ready for a trip down memory lane? No? Cut it out! How rude!
Okay, got that out of my system.
Well, so far, it's been pretty predictable who was going to star on the upcoming Fuller House! D.J., Stephanie, Kimmy, Danny, Uncle Joey and Jesse, Becky and now, Nicky and Alex! I'm especially stoked about Bob Saget returning as Danny...that dude took on some dirty dirty roles since Full House that left me with my jaw on the floor! D.J.'s high school sweetheart Steve will also be returning, but not as who you might think.
If you need a refresher, here's what some of them look like now:
So we have all the major hitters, except Mary-Kate and Ashley Fuller (Fuller...say what?) Olsen, who have long been rumored to star/not star/star/not star, and at this time, it's a no. But it still could happen. But it won't happen, evar. Like I said, pretty predictable!
The show will shadow the original in it's plot in some ways; D.J. Tanner-Fuller (ah...there's the Fuller) is a widowed mother of two, expecting a third (or could it be twins?). Her late husband, Tommy Fuller, was a fireman, and is NOT Steve, so could the romance be rekindled again? Prom seems like such a long time ago! But things become too much for D.J. to handle, so like with Danny, Jesse and Joey in the original, D.J. asks her sister Stephanie and best friend Kimmy to move in and help. It's almost like they had this planned from episode one!
This is more of the plan for the new show from hollywoodlife.com:
As for the kids, DJ has a 12 or 13-year-old son, Jessie Daniel, who is reportedly a “ladies’ man,” who is having a hard time without his father, TVLine reports. He’s a musician, too — thanks Uncle Jesse. Another boy is Max, who’s 6 or 7 years old with O.C.D. like Danny Tanner. He also is a little more of a geek, and looks up to his older bro.
Kimmy’s daughter is 12 or 13 and is bi-racial, embracing her Latina heritage. She’s smart but more into boys than school — and loves social media.
The producers and stars are promising a show that is more like Full House, and less like that crap on TLC, the Disney Channel and pretty much every "family" comedy on every other station, so we'll have to wait and see how much of that promise comes through.
But now, who else do we need to have on the first episode, or at some point during the first season, at least?
Here's who I'm rooting for:
Nick and Irene Katsopolis
(John Aprea and Yvonne Wilder)
Ma and Pa Katsopolis! Jesse's dream of becoming a musician and not a roach killer almost drove his pops away, but, like all Full House episodes (mostly, anyway), this one ended happily.
The next actor played a character that I'll never forget, and his episode didn't quite end on as much of a happy note as a hopeful note. His performance had quite an impact on me, so I REALLY hope he shows back up!
Silence is not Golden is easily my most-remembered episode, even more so than the finale. And J.D. pulled it off pretty good too, playing a child abused by his father, who hides his pain with humor and being a clown (Robin Williams, you come to mind no matter what we might be talking about, it seems). Having Charlie reappear as a school guidance counselor at D.J.'s kid's school, or motivational speaker would be awesome! Plus, he played in 2 episodes of Quantum Leap, including the finale, so yeah...sorry, had to geek out there.
This cute as a button little gal never failed to be, well, cute as a button in all of her 13 episodes. Her role in True Blood was pretty good, but when I saw her in Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, it pretty much shed any image of her as that cute little gal from Full House. And, of course, can't forget her little counterpart-
He was a pretty busy child star, and why not? Those ears were adorable! He's recently busy again, starring in Baby Daddy on ABC Family.
This kid has been in EVERYthing! He starred opposite in Bruce Willis in Mercury Rising in a pretty serious role, and opposite Ah-nold in Kindergarten Cop (BOYS HAVE A P...yeah that kid). Let's not mention poor little Gage Creed though. This kid HAS to come back! He's recently become pretty busy acting again, like his old co-star Teddy.
Or don't come back. Whatever.
She played small roles in 2 pretty big episodes, Stephanie's Princess Leia hairdo/ear piercing episode as one of The Jennifers, and Silence is not Golden. But that's not why I'd like to see her back. Topanga! TOPANGA! 'Nuff said.
(Jordan Christopher Michael)
This little buttmunch was hilarious in his episodes! What else would be better than a pain-in-the-butt neighbor that never grew up?
Sadly, this probably won't happen. *tear*
Comet the Dog
(Buddy? Not sure)
Maybe Son or Grandson of Comet?
She appeared both in person and was mentioned in a few episodes, but the real bombshell is not when she shows up with big boobs in Back to School Blues, but when D.J. says she's married and pregnant at age 16, and freaks daddy Danny out. Maybe they can find a guests spot for her? Who knows! But I couldn't find a "now" pic of her, so she probably hung up her acting...things.
Bonus guest stars!
THE BEACH BOYS
Because, dangit, they're The Beach Boys!
Who'd I miss? Let me know!
