I doubt there is a soul out there that doesn't recognize the exhilarating story of Peter Pan and the magical world of Neverland. As a kid growing up, I used to dream of joining the boy who could fly and his posse of Lost Boys, living free of grown-up rules on an enchanting island filled with mermaids, Native Americans, fairies and pirates.
And naturally, because the beautiful story is so timeless, it has received its fair share of adaptations over the years. One of my favorites however, has been the 2003 movie Peter Pan, playing host to an amazing cast including Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter!) as the swashbuckling tyrant Captain Hook, Rachel Hurd-Wood as the head-strong Wendy Darling, and Jeremy Sumpter as the mischievous boy who refuses to grow up.
Remind yourself of the epic adventure that was Peter Pan in the short trailer below:
Since the early '00s, many of the characters have gone on to do their own thing, starring in a myriad of different projects. However, one particular actor has slightly fallen off the radar and after some digging, I was happy to discover that no, he didn't remain back in Neverland aged 13, but in fact grew up and has been acting ever since!
Oh yes, 12 years following the film's release, it seems that Jeremy Sumpter has undergone an incredible transformation into adulthood, a.k.a.: he Neville Longbottom'd his way into his mid-twenties! Just try not to be blinded by his stunning face:
What. An. Ultimate. Babe.
If you're as gob-smacked as I am, here's another pic to prove that no, this is in fact NOT a trick - he does actually look like that!
Bear in mind, if you can't get enough (which obvs you can't), his Instagram account will definitely keep you occupied, because it is filled to the brim with gems like this:
Since becoming a ruggedly handsome man with a bangin' bod, you'll also be pleased to know that Jeremy has done more than simply remain a certified dreamboat. In fact, he has continued acting over the years, honing his talent and playing many, many roles across a wide spectrum of genres.
For example, you'll recognize him as J.D. on Friday Night Lights, regularly appearing on the show between 2008 and 2010.
He also notably took on the role of Jacob in Into the Storm, an adrenaline pumping ride following the adventures of a group of thrill-seekers and storm-trackers in hot pursuit of an onslaught of tornadoes.
And because he likes to get involved in a variety of different projects, he then also went on to star in supernatural thriller The Culling, in which a group of college kids come head to a head with dark forces while on a road trip. Check out the spine-tingling trailer below:
It doesn't end there either! Last April, Jeremy was the lead in comedy sport drama The Squeeze, and later on this year, you can gaze at his gorgeous face in The Unbroken and crime action thriller Take Down.
So as you can see, life is treating Jeremy pretty well these days and considering his career is swiftly gaining pace, don't be surprised if you see him in more projects in the coming years (allowing for many more hours of staring at his perfect face!).
While we might miss the young 13-year-old from Peter Pan and his mischievous shenanigans with fairies and mermaids in a far off land, boy aren't we also glad he's grown up into the babe that he is today.
