Fresh off a successful San Diego Comic-Con promotional moment for The Walking Dead Season 6, we have some new revealing images courtesy of EW that will give you a bit of an idea about the new cast members and their role in keeping this show awesome. We already know that Ethan Embry and Merritt Wever are joining the cast, and thanks to showrunner Scott M. Gimple we now have an idea of who they'll be playing.
Embry will step into the role of "Carter," who Gimple describes as a "combo of a few characters that we actually haven’t hit yet or weren’t able to hit in other characters." He's apparently an amalgamation of characters from the comics and has been in Alexandria "for the whole time, just quite busy."
Wever will play Dr. Denise Cloyd, a surgeon in Alexandria who shows up in Robert Kirkman's comic. Straight Outta Compton star Corey Hawkins will play Heath, a supply runner who also appears in the comics. Check out these newbies below!
Ethan Embry as 'Carter'
Merritt Wever as 'Dr. Denise Cloyd'
Corey Hawkins as 'Heath'
I think this just further shows this show cares about diversity and having men and women involved. Obviously, if the zombie apocalypse happened, everyone would have to team up and put aside racial and gender related differences. This show has everybody from all sorts of walks of life. That's why I think it's been such a successful series.
October 12th is slowly, but steadily coming. Stay tuned for more The Walking Dead news on Moviepilot!
