Season 3 of Marvel's [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.](tag:722469) will find a brand-new face joining the cast. But rather than being part of the team, she'll be a thorn in Agent Coulson's side all season long.

Entertainment Weekly reports that actress Constance Zimmer (Entourage, House of Cards) is joining the cast for the upcoming season. While her character hasn't been named yet, we know she'll be playing the head of a new government agency that will find itself in direct opposition with Agent Coulson and the rest of S.H.I.E.L.D. in their attempts to find the Inhumans.

So now, my question is: This new government agency, could it be S.W.O.R.D.? Season 2 found us being introduced to, in Mack's words, "the real S.H.I.E.L.D." But as we saw at the end of last season, a good portion of them were wiped out in the Inhumans' attack on the Iliad. Still, there are enough remaining S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who don't believe Nick Fury and Phil Coulson's secretive way of doing things is for the best. Might we see this turn into the rise of S.W.O.R.D., the other side of the coin to S.H.I.E.L.D.?

I'm curious to hear your thoughts in the comments, everyone.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Tuesday, September 29 on ABC.
