Comic book lovers or not, Everyone knows who The Fantastic Four are. They are one of Marvel's strongest and most underrated superhero teams. When everyone thinks of Marvel's greatest teams, almost everyone says The Avengers or The X-Men. No one ever says The Fantastic Four are their favorite or the best. The Fantastic Four is a great team and I am going to show you why they are such a great team.

The Creative Team

The Fantastic Four series have been written by the best of the best and has memorable and original runs that should be included amongst the very best in the history of Marvel Comics. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were the original team behind The Fantastic Four. The initial run by Stan Lee/Jack Kirby started off the series with a bang that is considered by many to be one of the best in history. That's why it was considered the Golden Age. After Stan Lee, there was still countless of amazing writers and artists including Brian Michael Bendis, Roy Thomas, Marv Wolfman, John Byrne, Walter Simonson, Steve Englehart, Mark Waid, Carlos Pacheco, Jonathan Hickman and Matt Fraction. Just look at some of the great comics given to us by the amazing creators.

The Daunting Villains

The Fantastic Four have some amazingly evil villains. From small but powerful villains like Molecule Man to evil armored geniuses like Doctor Doom, their villains are all unique and threathening at te same time. Let's not forget the biggest bad there is, the planet devourer, Galactus himself. The Fantastic Four's villains come from all over the place, some are supernatural like Diablo and Mephisto. Others are cosmic foes which include The Skrulls, The Kree, villains from the Negative Zone and the microverse. If you name your top 10 villains in the Marvel Universe then it's a guarantee that at least one started as a Fantastic Four villain and that is a huge understatement.

The Inclusion of Science

Between Reed Richards and Doctor Doom, two of the smartest minds in the Marvel universe, The Fantastic Four has advanced the science of comics more than any other comic book ever. The comic book has included "unstable molecules", microverses, multiverses, omniverses, etc... The "comic science" of the Fantastic Four is inconceivable. The Fantastic Four is remarkable because it suspends our disbelief and makes us wonder what's possible and what's not in the unlimited universe of comics. The Fantastic Four create their own form of Science Fiction and it is unique, creative and sometimes accurate.

The Feeling of Family

The Fantastic Four comic books are full of supporting characters. There is no main character. The comics is about a family in which each character can be considered the lead character of the book. Most of these characters are strong and interesting enough to have their own ongoing series. The Fantastic Four includes two characters with the comedic effect and marvelous catchphrases such as "It's clobberin time!" and "Flame On!" It also has the smartest man in comics who could possibly support his own ongoing series if afforded one. There's also the matriarch of the family who is the most physically powerful member of the group. All that and I haven't even mentioned Franklin and Valeria who are like the Drake and Josh of the Marvel Universe and have over the years have turned into amazing and over-powered characters.

New Team Members

Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben are not the only members of The Fantastic Four. There have been a bunch of other superheroes who have joined and left The Fantastic Four. Some of these members include Luke Cage, She-Hulk, Ant-Man, Storm, Black Panther and even Spider-Man. In Fantastic Four #347, a female Skrull alien who was both a shape-shifter and a telepath managed to capture the team and convinced the world that The Fantasitc Four were dead. Wolverine, Ghost Rider, The Hulk and Spider-Man created a new Fantastic Four to avenge them, the team didn't last very long because of the fact that the team was actually alive.

Those are my arguments why The Fantastic Four shouldn't be just thrown aside. The movies haven't been the best in the past, but the upcoming Fantastic Four movie is original and features an amazing cast. Do you agree with my statements? Are you going to go see the new Fantastic Four movie? Let me know!
