So, any fans of the whatculture article series 5 Awesome Performances & 5 That Sucked should know two weeks ago after a hiatus, they came back, but, there are some actors, judging by looking at their catalog, that they might not get to. So, I've taken upon myself the actors that are less known. But, to give this some flare, or possibly taking it away, I've chopped off the second half. So, without further ado, let's start off with the funny, expressive and unforgettable Christopher Lloyd. After his start as Reverend Jim on Taxi we knew he would stick around like gum on your shoe. Gum that played memorable characters along the way. Here are what I believe are his 5 best.
5. Uncle Fester Addams - Addams Family Franchise (1991-93)
The Addams Family and Addams Family Values were two sadly forgotten family movies based on the classic television series. Among the memorable Addams are Cristina Ricci's Wednesday, Raoul Julia's Gomez and Angelica Huston's Morticia, and our boy Lloyd's Uncle Fester. Bringing his trademark expressiveness and comedic timing, Lloyd is not soon forgotten as the sadly misused Uncle Fester.
4. Max Taber - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
In his first film role, Lloyd plays a belligerent and rebellious man in a mental institute that has it's order shattered by Jack Nicholoson's Randle McMurphy, who livens things up and goes through with rebelling against Ratched, almost killing her. His part is as a side character, but he is given the last line when he sees Chief escape at the end of the film, showing that he truly cared for Mac, Chief and the other patients.
3. Kruge - Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984)
While not as memorable as
Kruge was a pretty cool villain. Klingons were the shiz back in TOS. And Kruge was a commander of Klingons. Sure, some say Star Trek 3 isn't as good as 2 or 4, but Christopher Lloyd is the best part, at least for me, about 3. Kind of like Foodfight! And no, that's not a segway.
2. Judge Doom - Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (1988)
By far the most threatening Lloyd villain. His pale skin, black clothes, the way he just murdered a shoe just to test a murder weapon. He's so terrifying! And surprisingly, where if you take a villain like say, Hannibal Lecter, and make him a cartoon, he'd be less threatening. When Doom is revealed to be a toon, and the toon who killed Eddie's brother, he notches the fright meter to 11. Out of five. Who could top Judge Doom? (Now that's a Segway!)
1. Dr. Emmet "Doc" Brown - Back To The Future Trilogy (1985-90)
GREAT SCOTT! 1.21 GIGAWATTS! BACK... TO THE FUTURE! How could I not pick Doc Brown? The guy who invented Time Travel with some style, the quack who invents stuff regularly, and the mad doctor who got gunned down by Libyans, survived, made gasoline in the Wild West, and doesn't need roads. He is number one, without question. Da da da... Da da da da da da da da DA DA DA DAAAA DAAAA DA DA DA DA DA DAAAAAAAAAAA!
