Everybody that has ever read or seen Harry Potter has always wondered what house they would be in at Hogwarts. Sure, most of us want to be Gryffindor, but some of us are much better suited for Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, or even Slytherin! For some Harry Potter fans, however, not only do we want to know what house we belong to, we want to try to figure out what house our favorite fictional characters would be a part of if they weren't muggles. I've taken a look at the Avengers team (as of Age of Ultron) and tried to figure out what house they belong to. However, everything is much more fun when it's a game! So before we delve into my choices, let's see what you think!
Let's find out!
Slytherin! Why? Tony Stark is cunning, very resourceful, and ambitious, which are the three essential traits to being a Slytherin. Prior to becoming Iron Man, Stark operated a multi-million dollar company that specialized in making weapons. By building his own suit, while imprisoned and under tight scrutiny, it's clear that this man is not only resourceful but cunning as well. His narcissistic tendencies and egotistical nature make him a shoe -in for the House of Slytherin.
Next up is...
The answer is...
Hufflepuff! Sure Captain America is courageous, which is why many might put him in Gryffindor, but he's also so much more than that! He's fiercely loyal to his country and his friends, he's dedicated and hardworking, he does things out of a sense of morality not because he wants to prove his courage, and he wants to stand up for the little guy. Captain America exhibits all of the traits needed to be a great Hufflepuff.
Bruce Banner aka the Hulk
The sorting hat says...
Ravenclaw! Bruce Banner is easily the smartest man in the room (any room). He's brilliant and quite the visionary, it's his work that ended up being the basis for Ultron and Vision. Sure it might have been Tony Stark, but even Stark's genius needed the help of this man! His creativity is what led to the gamma ray that ended up turning him into the Hulk. His witty one liners are proof enough that this man belongs in Ravenclaw.
The Mighty Thor
The Norse God goes to...
Gryffindor! Thor is the very essence of what makes a Gryffindor a Gryffindor. His courage, bravery, running into danger, nerve, daring, and his honor are all traits that belong to the house of Gryffindor. His love for the color red is another indicator he was always meant to be in Gryffindor. Let's not forget, that he's also the only one worthy enough to hold Mjolnir, and although his speech is a bit outdated, he's still quite the chivalrous ladies man and would do anything to bring peace and justice to the Nine Realms.
Now that we've gotten the main four guys that make up the Mightiest Heroes let's take a look at some of the other Avengers and try to figure out what house they belong in.
And the sorting hat says...
Ravenclaw! This was a hard choice for the sorting hat. The Scarlet Witch shows some traits from all of the houses but her prominent personality traits are what landed her in with the Ravenclaws. Her creativity, originality, and quick thinking are all admirable traits that those in Ravenclaw instantly recognize. In my opinion, she is also one of the most underrated female heroines ever (Click here to see my article about that), and Ravenclaws are sorely underrated as well.
The wise sorting hat thinks...
Gryffindor! The simple answer is clear to see, this brave young man sacrificed his life to save a man he hardly knew. He's brave, courageous, and was always seeking justice.
The answer you seek is...
Slytherin! This trained assassin and all around badass shows all of the traits that would place anyone in the house of Slytherin. Being a SHIELD agent and a super spy, Natasha is a master of deception, she's resourceful, cunning, and she's also proven that she believes the ends justify the means and will do anything to get the job done.
The master marksman belongs in...
Gryffindor! This man literally stands among gods, a man in a iron suit, a man who fought Nazis, super powered siblings, and a hulking monster and says "I have a bow." And you know what? That works for him! He is easily one of bravest and most courageous of the Avengers and he's just a normal man who is really, really good with a bow and arrow. His honor and sense of Justice are just more reasons the sorting hat placed him in Gryffindor. In the comics this Avenger is also deaf (Click here for my article: 8 Disabled Superheroes that Inspire Us)
The Avengers are Earth's Mightiest Heroes, but just like us muggles, they too probably would've liked to have gone to Hogwarts. At least now we know what houses these awesome people would be a part of and we can all sleep easy tonight.
